The Jr Jays’ defensive line should not miss a step next season as they return key members like sophomore Gavin Trapp Gavin Trapp 6'1" | 245 lbs | DL Creighton Prep | 2028 State NE . Gavin was disruptive on the interior defensive line, tallying 27 tackles, 5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. What stands out about Gavin is that he isn’t necessarily this massive defender; instead, he shows he can win with his natural strength and violent streak. He plays with great pop out of his stance while maintaining good pad level and leverage while engaged with defenders. Trapp uses his hands very well with great power to stun opponents on initial contact and the placement to win the inside leverage battle. He can also use his hands to swim and rip through blockers in order to disengage. Tireless motor and non-stop pursuit keep him closing on the ball from snap through the whistle. Great tackler at the point of contact.
