. Grant had a solid sophomore season in which he tallied 23 tackles and two TFLs as a backup safety. Watching Grant’s tape, the biggest thing that stands out is that this guy likes to HIT. He is quick to read his keys and explode to the ball, where he uses proper technique and a ton of power to blow up the ball carrier. Grant showed that he can take smart tackling angles when tracking the ball to the outside and can fill his gaps very well when defending inside the box. Grant’s underrated speed allows him to get depth and serve as a reliable defender who can cover deep zones. When defending the pass, Grant does a good job of being physical at the catch point and using his hands to deflect passes or force drops. Big season loading for Grant!
