He is quick to read his keys and explode to the ball, where he uses proper technique and a ton of power to blow up the ball carrier. Grant showed that he can take smart tackling angles when tracking the ball to the outside and can fill his gaps very well when defending inside the box. Grant's underrated speed allows him to get depth and serve as a reliable defender who can cover deep zones. When defending the pass, Grant does a good job of being physical at the catch point and using his hands to deflect passes or force drops. In this role, he did a great job clearing outside run lanes by clearing perimeter DBs out of run games and sticking with his block through the whistle. Jacob wasn't able to really show off his route tree, but he did prove he can be a reliable target who can find the sticks and keep drives moving.
