The Class 6A-1 state championship game is set! #1 Owasso will square off with #4 Bixby in Edmond on Friday at 7PM. The Rams have been on top of the 6A-1 rankings since knocking off Bixby and Jenks to kick off the season. Bixby continues to make history, punching their ticket to the state title game for the 11th consecutive season, a state record. The Spartans are also looking to become the first 11-man program in state history to win seven consecutive state championships. In this breakdown, we're putting the spotlight on ten Bixby Spartans to keep an eye on Friday night. These ten players have had terrific 2024 campaigns and will look to impact Friday's game.
[player_tooltip player_id='1096189' first='Blake' last='Hogshooter'] - Senior Wide Receiver

Senior wide receiver and Houston commit [player_tooltip player_id='1096189' first='Blake' last='Hogshooter'] came into this season expecting to be a game changer in Class 6A-1 and he's been just that. Last season, you could see flashes of him being the next guy in this Bixby offense but they also had a few special seniors on that 2023 title team. This season, Hogshooter has left no doubt, leading the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns and he has a chance to go over the 1,000 yard mark on Friday night. The Bixby senior has found the end zone in the majority of the games this season. But the season opener against Owasso was one of the few games where he was kept out of the end zone. Hogshooter surely hasn't forgotten about that and will be ready to go on Friday night.

[player_tooltip player_id='415161' first='Braeden' last='Presley'] - Junior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='415161' first='Braeden' last='Presley'] is on the shortlist of players we're looking forward to seeing again in person this week at any of the state championship games. Presley has turned into an absolute monster over the last month and is playing some of his best football at the exact right moment. And let's face it, over the last six years, we've seen his older brothers Brennan and Braylin add to their legends with standout performances in the state championship game. Now, Braeden gets his opportunity to add to that family legacy. Presley has emerged as a standout wide receiver and had a good showing in their semifinal win over Edmond Memorial. But he's a terrific playmaker in all three phases. No matter where he lines up, he can make something special happen.

[player_tooltip player_id='328129' first='Broderick' last='Shull'] - Senior Offensive Lineman

Senior offensive lineman and Auburn commit [player_tooltip player_id='328129' first='Broderick' last='Shull'] was one of the top additions to the Bixby roster prior to last season. He and his family moved down to the Tulsa area from Missouri and he instantly became one of the top offensive lineman prospects in the state's 2025 class. Eventually, he announced his commitment to Auburn after being sought after by many D1 programs. This season, Shull has anchored an offensive line that has once again paved the way for a dominant and balanced rushing attack. You look at some of the rushing stats and on any given night, several players can end up beating an opponent. Shull had to sit out some of the Owasso game back in week zero so he is certainly looking to get back out there against a tough front seven.

[player_tooltip player_id='1570180' first='Brooks' last='Dixon'] - Senior Defensive Back

Almost every player on this breakdown is someone that we've already written about quite a bit in the past. Senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1570180' first='Brooks' last='Dixon'] has been a player that has waited for his moment in this Bixby program and has taken full advantage of his senior season. Dixon played in different spots last season and was productive but his playing time has blown up this fall and he's emerged as one of the team's top tacklers. Dixon is third on the team in tackles and was incredibly productive on the defensive side of the ball in the regular season meeting with the Rams. His 12 tackles back in week zero were a season-high. Dixon has taken full advantage of his lone season as a starter for the Spartans and looks to go out on a high note Friday.

[player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] - Junior Quarterback

Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='284114' first='Carson' last='Kirby'] has taken another step forward this season as a quarterback to watch in the state's 2026 class. Last year, Kirby led a Bixby offense that also played two different quarterbacks at various times. This season, he's certainly had more on his plate and in addition to seeing his production go up as a passer, he's emerged as a serious threat in the run game. Now, we were told in the offseason that Kirby was going to run more this season and he's definitely done just that. He's run for nearly 600 yards this year and has well over 3,000 yards of total offense. He'll be a big key to the game on Friday. The first meeting with Owasso this season was a roller coaster game. We have no doubt that Kirby is hungry to get another shot at the Rams.

[player_tooltip player_id='255022' first='Cooper' last='Parker'] - Senior Quarterback/Linebacker

Senior quarterback and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='255022' first='Cooper' last='Parker'] has been one of the top two-way players in Class 6A-1 this season. We still have him listed here as a quarterback but he's thrown the ball just six times (completed all six) while he leads the team in carries, rushing yards and rushing touchdowns with 16 on the year. So needless to say, when Parker is coming into the game on offense, you more than likely know what is going to happen when he gets the snap. Defensively, Parker leads the team in tackles from his linebacker position. Bixby lost a special linebacker and their entire defensive line to graduation. It hasn't had near the impact that it could have because of players like Parker returning. He's stepped into the spotlight and shined this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='414994' first='Cord' last='Nolan'] - Junior Tight End/Linebacker

Junior tight end and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='414994' first='Cord' last='Nolan'] has been a guy to watch for the Spartans since the first game of his freshman season. Coincidentally, that was in the 2022 season opener against Owasso. Nolan has only continued to improve and while we first noticed him as a linebacker, he's also emerged as a valuable part of the Bixby offense as a tight end. Nolan is second on the team in receiving yards and had a big night on offense during the week zero meeting with Owasso this season. Defensively, Nolan is second on the team in tackles behind Parker and is first on the team in tackles for loss. With a decent game on Friday night, Nolan will go over the 100-tackle mark for the year. Just like Parker, he's an incredible two-way player for the Spartans.

[player_tooltip player_id='338550' first='Emory' last='Snyder'] - Junior Defensive Back

Junior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='338550' first='Emory' last='Snyder'] has emerged this season as a cornerback to watch in the state's 2026 class. Snyder has been a player on our radar for a while now but he has elevated his game this season. He kicked off his junior season with a bang, performing well in the season opener against Owasso. He's a long cornerback that has the ability and size to cause a lot of problems for opposing receivers. Snyder is an underrated athlete on this Bixby roster that features dudes everywhere. The junior can produce at a high level and he has shown that at various points this season. Because of his size and athletic ability, there aren't many situations where Snyder is going to be in a situation where he can't handle himself.

[player_tooltip player_id='528027' first='Kaeden' last='Penny'] - Sophomore Offensive/Defensive Lineman

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='528027' first='Kaeden' last='Penny'] had quite a bit of hype around him coming into this season. Penny had emerged this offseason as a 2027 prospect to know moving forward when he picked up his first handful of D1 offers. Those offers haven't slowed down as the Bixby sophomore has been an absolute force on the line of scrimmage. Coming into this season, we knew of Penny more as a defensive lineman but there is no doubt that he's had a significant impact on the offensive side of the line of scrimmage as well. And similar to the linebacker position, Bixby has also done a great job of producing a ton of high-level offensive linemen during the last decade. So no matter which side of the line of scrimmage he lines up, Penny will have an impact.

[player_tooltip player_id='402387' first='Trey' last='McGlothlin'] - Junior Linebacker

Before his sophomore year, [player_tooltip player_id='402387' first='Trey' last='McGlothlin'] was a player that we had circled as someone to know moving forward after watching him in various 7v7 tournaments and camps. As a sophomore, McGlothlin stood out to us in special teams and in different spots on defense. This season, he's emerged as one of the top linebacker prospects in the state's 2026 class. Now, as you can see, we're generally pretty high on Bixby linebackers almost every year because it seems like they always have two or three game wreckers at that position. McGlothlin is cut from a different cloth because his blend of athleticism and size makes him a much different threat than some of the traditional Bixby linebackers that we have seen in the past.
