Welcome to this week's Friday Film Room Review, where we take a deeper look at some standout players from across Oklahoma. This session is all about going beyond the surface—diving into the details you only catch when you really study the film. We're talking about technique, fundamentals, decision-making, and how players respond in key moments.

As coaches, this is where you separate flash from substance. Anyone can make a highlight play, but what shows up consistently snap after snap is what really matters. Footwork, leverage, ball skills, eye discipline, effort—those are the traits we're focusing on in this breakdown.

The players featured this week put together strong performances and showed qualities that translate. Whether it's consistency, toughness, or the ability to execute under pressure, each of these athletes gave us something worth studying and evaluating moving forward.

Alex is currently a running back and linebacker at Fairview High School and is in the class of 2027. He has a good-looking frame, is long and athletic who weighs in at 195 pounds. He displays good footwork and shows instinctual movements with the ball in his hands. I like how he makes the first tackler miss and keep his feet continually moving once contact is made. On the defensive side of the ball, he looks good coming off the edge rushing the quarterback and gets off blocks well.

Next athlete that we will take a look at in our Film Room Review is [player_tooltip player_id='1571686' first='Brett' last='Kaste'] from Lincoln [player_tooltip player_id='1838651' first='Christian' last='High'] School. There is a lot of things that I like about Brett out at wide receiver where he does it all. He tracks the ball well over his shoulder and has good eye hand coordination. He finds the open window for the quarterback to get him the ball and understands his spacing in the route combinations. He is a physical wide receiver who mixes it up in his blocking out on the edge for other receivers/running backs. Brett is a smooth wide receiver who runs multiple routes and is a deep threat for the Bulldogs.

I absolutely love watching the big boys up front get after it and that is the same case for [player_tooltip player_id='1689520' first='Grahm' last='Streater'] out of Bristow. He plays on both sides of the ball and just simply gets after it. At center, Grahm plays with a good base and good pad leverage. He has a good initial punch all while coming off the ball and likes to finish his blocks. In the double team aspect, he keep two hands on and two eyes on the second level defender. In pass pro, he has a good kick step to help identify who he is picking up. I even enjoy watching him play on the defensive side of the ball as he fires off and plays with good extension. Grahm is someone to keep an eye on in the 2028 class as he keeps developing and putting in work.

The next athlete that we will take a look at in Film Review is [player_tooltip player_id='1637574' first='Ian' last='Castellanos'] out of Union High School in the class of 2027. Ian plays both at safety and out at outside linebacker for Union. He is an intriguing defensive player, but he shows that he can do both, cover and tackle. Ian covers a lot on the backend of the secondary and moves well when the ball is in the air. He covers a lot of ground to go along with good ball skills. Ian tracks the near hip on his tackles and has good form overall when he strikes the ball carrier. Ian is a good open field tackler and a good run fitter in the box.

Here is our first Oklahoma Preps High School player that I have put my eyes on from Enid High School. Keon plays wide receiver for the Plainsmen out of the class of 2027 and they get the ball to him in various ways on the offensive side of the ball. Keon is athletic and high points the ball so that way the ball doesn't get near his body to complete the catch. He tracks the ball over his shoulder and shows good body control finishing the catch. Keon catches the ball well in traffic and shows he has strong hands. I like how he looks to find the open window for his quarterback to get him the ball.
