[player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] - Sophomore Wide Receiver - Salina

Salina sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] has made the most of his sophomore season. After having a breakout freshman season in 2023, it looked like he was primed for a monster sophomore campaign. Unfortunately, he suffered a leg injury early on in the year that sidelined him for a little over a month. He got back on the field late in the regular season and helped the Wildcats finish as the three seed in arguably the toughest district in the class. When he's healthy, he's a complete game changer for Salina.

[player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] - Junior Quarterback - Adair

The Adair Warriors are back to contending following a perfect regular season and a district championship. Junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1328091' first='Cooper' last='McCord'] burst onto the scene last season as a sophomore, putting up some big numbers in the pass game as well as the running game. This season, McCord has elevated his game as a passer and has consistently been the team's leading rusher. When Adair makes the playoffs, they usually win a game or two and McCord could have the Warriors in a position to make a run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1324250' first='Dax' last='Owens'] - Sophomore Quarterback - Davis

It's easy to judge Davis on their 6-4 record but they are easily one of the top contenders in Class 2A-2 as the playoffs begin. Leading their run-first offense will be sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1324250' first='Dax' last='Owens'] at the quarterback position. He had a breakout freshman season and has continued to elevate his game this fall. When we caught Davis in person earlier this season, Owens was a guy that really impressed us with his overall playmaking ability. He can grind play after play and then in the blink of an eye, he's gone for a 50+ yard score.

[player_tooltip player_id='1558687' first='Jason' last='Powders'] - Senior Running Back - Henryetta

Henryetta might have one of the more underrated backfields in Class 2A-2. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='1558687' first='Jason' last='Powders'] has emerged as one of the top running backs in this class with nearly 1,700 yards on the ground this season. Powders and the Henryetta offense has led them back to the playoffs and they'll host Salina in the first round. If they win on Friday night, that will set up a showdown with Stroud and a match-up of two offenses that can really run the football at a very high level. Powders is having an excellent senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='913427' first='Kason' last='Presley'] - Senior Running Back - Stroud

Stroud has had one of the best offenses in the state and not just in Class 2A-2. Senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='913427' first='Kason' last='Presley'] has consistently been one of the top running backs in this class from the start of the year. Earlier this season, he committed to Pitt State and he's definitely a player that's going to make a college program better. Presley and the Tigers open up the playoffs against Community Christian at home. Don't be surprised if they go on a run and make it to the semifinals or even find themselves competing for the state title.

[player_tooltip player_id='587265' first='Kenny' last='Golston'] - Junior Running Back - Valliant

Valliant junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='587265' first='Kenny' last='Golston'] is one of the best running back prospects in the state's 2026 class. So it's no surprise that he's helped lead Valliant back to the playoffs, where they'll go on the road to face Colcord in the first round. What's interesting about Golston is his recruitment is starting to really heat up on the defensive side of the ball. Since his freshman season, Golston has been a standout running back but college coaches are starting to show interest in him as a potential linebacker at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1348790' first='Malachi' last='Henderson'] - Senior Running Back - Holdenville

When we wrote about Holdenville in our 2A-2 preview, we mentioned how they were the ultimate team and could have anyone beat an opponent on any given night. But when it comes down to their best playmaker, there is no doubt in our mind that it's senior [player_tooltip player_id='1348790' first='Malachi' last='Henderson'] at the running back position. Holdenville has one of the best rushing attacks in Class 2A-2 and they might not throw the ball more than three or four times a game. Henderson has been the best playmaker on this run-first offense this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] - Junior Running Back - Vian

Vian junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='424595' first='Masyn' last='Wright'] is on the short list for PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year so as the Wolverines go into the playoffs, he's definitely going to be a name to watch as Vian looks to capture their first state championship in over 50 years. Every time Wright steps on the field, he's routinely the best player on the field. He's had multiple games where he's scored almost every time he's touched the ball. As a running back, receiver, defender or returner, Wright has had a junior season to remember and looks to end it with a gold ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='192928' first='Ryan' last='Grayson'] - Senior Athlete - Beggs

Beggs senior [player_tooltip player_id='192928' first='Ryan' last='Grayson'] has been one of the more complete players in Oklahoma since his freshman season. He first got onto the field during his freshman season as a running back in a loaded backfield. He's continued his career as an offensive playmaker but he's also become one of the best ball hawks in the state on the defensive side of the ball. Grayson has helped lead Beggs back to the playoffs and they'll go on the road to face Alva in the first round. Grayson is definitely a player to watch in the playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id='479390' first='Seneca' last='Steele'] - Senior Quarterback - Kansas

Kansas senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='479390' first='Seneca' last='Steele'] has all the tools to be one of the best quarterbacks, if not the best quarterback in Class 2A-2. You watch him on person and on film and he checks a lot of the boxes. Now, Steele will look to help lead the Comets to a massive upset in the first round of the playoffs. Kansas goes on the road in the first round to face top-ranked Vian in the first round and the Wolverines are the heavy favorite to win it all. If the Kansas QB can lead his team to the upset win, he'll have everyone's attention moving forward.
