Mount St. Mary Camp Standouts

We had to leave early to make it over to Carl Albert's camp (that breakdown is coming) so we didn't see all of the action. But these nine players stood out from the beginning and played really well while we were in attendance. It didn't take him long to back that up with his play on the field. He caught a go-ball where he went up, snagged the ball with two defenders draped on him and had the strength to maintain possession. He also made several plays on the defensive side of the ball. This was our first chance to really watch him in person and it was hard not to be impressed. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1831885' first='Damon' last='Davis'] - 2027 Defensive Lineman - Southeast</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Similar to Evans, this was our first chance to see Southeast 2027 defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1831885' first='Damon' last='Davis'] in person and man did he not disappoint. During the 1 on 1 session of the camp, we watched Davis absolutely abuse several offensive tackles and the thing we liked the most was he never used the same pass rush move twice. He even got matched up against one of the state's better OL prospects and he held his own. Then when it was time to go into the team portion of camp, he had a really good showing. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1680645' first='Malachi' last='Hardiman'] - 2027 Offensive Lineman - Mount St. Mary</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While Davis was dominant on the defensive side of the line of scrimmage, you can say the same about Mount St. Mary 2027 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1680645' first='Malachi' last='Hardiman'] on Friday morning. During that same 1 on 1 session of camp, Hardiman was throwing guys around like rag dolls. It was around this time last year that we first watched Hardiman in person and we've been fans ever since. Whether it's on offense or defense, this is a guy that can absolutely own either side of the line of scrimmage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2138061' first='Max' last='Everett'] - 2028 Running Back/Wide Receiver - Heritage Hall</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We're buying all the [player_tooltip player_id='2138061' first='Max' last='Everett'] stock you have and then some as we look ahead to the 2026 season. Heritage Hall 2028 running back and wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='2138061' first='Max' last='Everett'] has had a terrific offseason and he just continued that momentum on Friday morning. Whether he was lined up at wide receiver or running back, the kid made plays at a very high level. There was one play where he got a hand off, was 1 on 1 with a terrific defensive end and put him in the spin cycle, got into the open field and scored. He's a playmaker to watch this fall. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1035105' first='Roman' last='Manella'] - 2027 Quarterback - Mount St. Mary</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We were fired up to watch Mount St. Mary 2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1035105' first='Roman' last='Manella'] go to work considering he's coming off a junior season where he broke several school records. He impressed once again with his ability to push the ball out on the boundaries and down the field. Now, as you'll see later in this breakdown, there is no doubt that Manella is going to benefit from having some absolute freaks at the skill positions. But his accuracy looks like it's improved and he was making some really good decisions Friday. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1830199' first='Teagan' last='Lawson'] - 2027 Quarterback - Heritage Hall</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Heritage Hall 2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1830199' first='Teagan' last='Lawson'] might have been the first player that stood out to us during the 7v7 portion of camp on Friday morning. It seemed like he completed his first 10-15 passes. We know that's not an accurate statement but it seemed like every time he threw the ball, it was on a rope and it was going where it needed to go. Lawson is a quarterback that we're fired up to watch this season because we didn't get to see him much last fall but that will change in 2027. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1669357' first='Tripp' last='Thomas'] - 2028 Wide Receiver/Defensive Back - Heritage Hall</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Heritage Hall 2028 wide receiver and defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='1669357' first='Tripp' last='Thomas'] was a player that we noticed on Friday morning and then he really stood out to us when we were going over the film we shot. Time after time, Thomas kept coming up and making some big plays on both sides of the ball. The Chargers had a really solid showing on the offensive side of the ball and Thomas was a big reason behind that. He's going to just be a junior this fall, if Friday was any indication, he's primed for a big year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1829105' first='Zach' last='Wylie'] - 2028 Wide Receiver - Mount St. Mary</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Similar to Thomas at Heritage Hall, Mount St. Mary 2028 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1829105' first='Zach' last='Wylie'] was a guy that kept coming up when we were going through the different clips we shot. Now, Mount St. Mary looks like they have dudes everywhere on the roster and so it's easy to focus in on them. Wylie is a guy that will keep the chains moving and is going to be critical if the Rockets make a run in Class 3A this season. From a limited sample on Friday, it looks like Wylie is going to be one of their leading receivers.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1837321' first='Zechariah' last='Robinson'] - 2027 Tight End/Defensive End - Mount St. Mary</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While watching him go to work on Friday, we said out loud how Mount St. Mary 2027 tight end and defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='1837321' first='Zechariah' last='Robinson'] is an alien. This kid is another example of a prospect that we're at a loss for words as to why he's not getting more interest from schools at the next level. Simply put, he's a next level player. Whether it's on offense as a hybrid tight end or wrecking shop on the defensive side of the ball. He's a nightmare for offensive tackles because he can beat you with strength or speed. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
