Which games on Friday night does Prep Redzone have circled? Here are our Best: Saturday Night 2nd Round Games!

#14 York @ #3 Oswego

York is coming off an extremely impressive first round win against Edwardsville. Now they get a state title contender Oswego. For host Oswego they are led by Iowa bound [player_tooltip player_id='831092' first='Carson' last='Cooney'] who is a linebacker that checks in at #35 overall. [player_tooltip player_id='1281456' first='Jeremiah' last='Cain'] is an explosive game changer for Oswego. York has a star in defensive lineman and Notre Dame commit [player_tooltip player_id='163858' first='Joseph' last='Reiff'] who can wreck a game up front!

#3 St. Charles North @ #19 Mt. Carmel

Make no mistake about it despite the seeding St. Charles North is the underdog here. They have a chance because they have the top ranked senior QB in the class who is still for some insane reason uncommitted in [player_tooltip player_id='161508' first='Ethan' last='Plumb']. [player_tooltip player_id='401623' first='Matthew' last='Plumb'] and [player_tooltip player_id='401614' first='Keaton' last='Reinke'] are juniors that can make big plays! Mt. Carmel is completely stacked and despite being a #19 seed they are the favorite to win the title. The #2 QB in the senior class is Vanderbilt commit [player_tooltip player_id='131488' first='Jack' last='Elliott'] who leads the Caravan. He has an array of elite weapons to get the ball to led by [player_tooltip player_id='432197' first='Quentin' last='Burrell'] who has had a breakout sophomore campaign. Defensively they are stacked up front with USC junior commit [player_tooltip player_id='270192' first='Braeden' last='Jones'] along with fellow stud junior [player_tooltip player_id='1538329' first='Joey' last='Quinn'] and freshman phenom [player_tooltip player_id='1682021' first='Caleb' last='Tucker'].

#4 West Aurora @ #20 Maine South

Want fire power? This one certainly has it! This like the previous matchup features a higher seed on the road that will be the underdog. West Aurora has one of the best wide receivers in the state in Iowa Hawkeyes verbal [player_tooltip player_id='331441' first='Terrence' last='Smith'] who is an absolute game changer! They are going to need to put up points as Maine South 2027 QB [player_tooltip player_id='342339' first='Jameson' last='Purcell'] is coming off an outing throwing for 6 TDs and 400+ yards. Army commit [player_tooltip player_id='830244' first='Zak' last='Stoilov'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1120482' first='Petar' last='Strbac'] protect him up front while running back [player_tooltip player_id='833296' first='Michael' last='Dellumo'] is an impactful weapon.

#12 Loyola @ #5 Marist

Loyola will go on the road to play Marist in what should be a good test for the state title contender Ramblers. Iowa walk on QB commit [player_tooltip player_id='1292076' first='Ryan' last='Fitzgerald'] has more than proven to be one of the best signal callers in the state this year. He has a ton of weapons including fellow future Hawkeye [player_tooltip player_id='831094' first='Drew' last='MacPherson']. Also have top ranked athlete in senior class [player_tooltip player_id='890063' first='Donovan' last='Brown'] headed to Washington. While Marist has been hit with injuries we know that the third Hawkeye on the field [player_tooltip player_id='830245' first='Brad' last='Fitzgibbon'] is going to be trying to get after his future teammate!

#12 Fenwick @ #5 Downers Grove North

Fenwick won a low scoring ugly game against Brother Rice in round 1. Their defensive stars are what they can rely on game in and game out. That starts with Auburn commit [player_tooltip player_id='330445' first='Nathaniel' last='Marshall'] who is one of the premier edge players not in just Illinois, but nationally. Tommy Theis and Jake Theis are playmakers on the back end. Minnesota Gophers junior QB commit [player_tooltip player_id='212320' first='Owen' last='Lansu'] is the headliner for DGN. He is the type of signal caller that can go on the road and win you a game along with his weapons of [player_tooltip player_id='205735' first='Charlie' last='Cruse'] and [player_tooltip player_id='283929' first='Oliver' last='Thulin'].

#7 Lake Forest @ #2 Libertyville

Libertyville has one of my favorite 2026 wide outs in [player_tooltip player_id='537214' first='Blaise' last='Lavista'] who has good size and hands. Also feature a standout offensive lineman in Army 2025 commit [player_tooltip player_id='537261' first='Rhett' last='Vanboening']. Lake Forest has numerous Redzone Top 300 ranked prospects including athlete [player_tooltip player_id='835152' first='Nathan' last='Williams'], defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='278889' first='Finn' last='Goodman'], quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='819668' first='Daniel' last='Van Camp'], offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1166050' first='Arjan' last='Jawanda'], along with linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='819690' first='Timotei' last='Dan'].

#6 Burlington Central @ #3 Geneva

Fun matchup here as one of the more underappreciated QB/WR duo's in the state headlines Burlington Central with #8 ranked QB [player_tooltip player_id='241121' first='Jackson' last='Alcorn'] throwing it to [player_tooltip player_id='754580' first='LJ' last='Kerr'] along with UW-Eau Claire [player_tooltip player_id='833307' first='Caden' last='West']. Geneva has fire power all over the field and it starts with the #4 overall player and top wide receiver in Georgia commit [player_tooltip player_id='278883' first='Talyn' last='Taylor']. [player_tooltip player_id='801711' first='Dominic' last='Dileonardi'] is also one of the top players at his position as a 2026 running back.

#6 Joliet Catholic @ #14 Sacred Heart Griffin

Two historic programs will meet in round 2 in central Illinois after SHG pulled off a first round upset win. Sacred Heart Griffin wins up front on the lines with senior defender [player_tooltip player_id='1292125' first='Chuck' last='Lanier'] and junior offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1399976' first='Cian' last='Mahoney']. JCA is all bout their running game with [player_tooltip player_id='1167291' first='Craig' last='Peacock Jr.'], [player_tooltip player_id='401593' first='Anthony' last='Finnegan'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1292307' first='Keegan' last='Farnaus']. Junior defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='401608' first='Ian' last='Campbell'] is a star up front on the defensive line for JCA.

#1 Byron @ #9 Montini

Top ranked Byron has to go on the road in a tricky road game. Byron has ranked senior offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1292182' first='Nolan' last='Brass'] along with watch list running back Brayden Koll. Montini features one of the premier 2027 prospects in the state in quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='611846' first='Israel' last='Abrams'] along with fellow top 10 sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1334146' first='Namari' last='Anderson'].

#1 Morgan Park @ #9 Metamora

Metamora scored a first round road upset over Centralia to give them the right to host Morgan Park. Anytime a top seed from Chicago has to travel downstate it is worth watching. Morgan Park is loaded though with #2 overall junior [player_tooltip player_id='801887' first='Nasir' last='Rankin'] who is a two way star. They have the no fly zone defense in their secondary with Washington State commit [player_tooltip player_id='213605' first='Jovan' last='Clark'], Wisconsin bound [player_tooltip player_id='830246' first='Jahmare' last='Washington'], [player_tooltip player_id='830844' first='Ahmad' last='Grayer'], and more. They also have one of the more underappreciated signal callers in [player_tooltip player_id='201957' first='Marcus' last='Thaxton'] at QB.
