MacPherson is a strong and talented running back who was vital in Loyola’s state title run. The 6’2, 195 lbs junior possesses a variety of traits that make him an elite prospect. MacPherson may be most dangerous in the pass game, as he displays the ability to run routes both out of the backfield and in the slot. He has tremendous body control and soft hands, allowing him to make incredible catches over the middle of the field. On hand offs, or as a lead blocker, MacPherson runs with low pad level and physicality to gain hard yardage. As he heads towards his senior campaign, MacPherson’s recruiting is beginning to heat up.

Loyola was able to back-to-back winning the 8A rematch from last year beating Lincoln-Way East 26-16. The Ramblers were in control most of the game largely due to their ability to establish a run game. Junior running back Drew MacPherson Drew MacPherson 6'1" | 190 lbs | RB Loyola Academy | 2025 State IL had a good night running the ball for Loyola, rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown. He also had 3 receptions for 51 yards. Loyola will look to reload and run it back in 2024.

MacPherson is a 6’1, 190 lbs running back for Loyola Academy. His first season on varsity was cut short by injury in Week 6. However, MacPherson showcased the raw talent as a sophomore that will set him up to be a big part of Loyola’s offense this upcoming season. He possesses break away speed, plus vision, and outstanding balance. MacPherson is a slippery back, who runs with low pad level and power that make him tough to stop. MacPherson hits the hole with speed and often makes the first defender miss with a quick juke or spin move. From there, his outstanding vision takes over and allows him to work for extra yards. With MacPherson returning to full health for this season, be on the lookout for his breakout junior year.
