I've worked through the night trying to perfect these new Division 2 Rankings. Here are my new Week 7 Rankings for Division 2, and my quick thoughts on every single ranked team!

1. De La Salle (3-2)

No movement for De La Salle this week. I'm starting to see publications list Groves as #1, but not yet for me. De La Salle is still the team to beat in Division 2, but if you're a Pilot fan, some saying Groves at #1 has to make you a little nervous.

2. Groves (6-0)

The Falcons just secured a dominant win over #30 South Lyon. Groves looks like a real threat in Division 2, and this is an INCREDIBLE chance for them to finally make it to Ford Field. Consistent QB play, great RB play with [player_tooltip player_id='1298776' first='Noah' last='Sanders'], and a super well-rounded defense. This is a complete team, and complete teams are very hard to come by!

3. St. Mary's (4-2)

[player_tooltip player_id='328630' first='Axel' last='Newell'] is playing his best football, and so is the supporting cast. The 10-pt loss to De La Salle makes them an interesting potential early postseason matchup. Especially if they can compete against Toledo Central Catholic next week- look out!

4. Mona Shores (6-0)

Mona Shores is staying put because, well, they lived up to expectations, and nobody above them slipped up, either. Though Mona Shores has the most impressive win out of the top four teams, beating down #13 Forest Hills Northern. I really like the talent on this team, enough to think they have an incredible shot at going to Ford Field. QB [player_tooltip player_id='602245' first='Jonathan' last='Pittman'] needs to keep playing consistently. RB [player_tooltip player_id='402064' first='Tomarion' last='Steward'] needs to see the field well and keep trucking people. Key defenders need to stay healthy. I'm very, very excited for this team moving forward!

5. Dexter (6-0)

Welp, Dexter earned two wins this week because Saline had to give up the game they played earlier this season. 5-1 or 6-0, Dexter is a complete team on paper. They have some areas where they can improve, but few true weaknesses. Offensively? They have to keep committing to the run game with [player_tooltip player_id='604131' first='Ronny' last='Johnson']. Mix in some targets for [player_tooltip player_id='1113047' first='Holden' last='Niemi'], and the offense will hum into the playoffs.

6. Byron Center (5-1)

Another week, another win for Byron Center. Their only loss on the season is to #4 Mona Shores, and they sure as heck look like a top 6 team. Their defense is swarming, and their offense has an elite playmaker in [player_tooltip player_id='602273' first='Isaac' last='Lee'].

7. Muskegon (2-3)

The Big Reds move up partially because of other teams losing and partially because of my trust in this program. Muskegon oftentimes catches fire in October through the postseason. I feel they're gaining some really good momentum heading into RP week. I really need to catch a Muskegon game to see [player_tooltip player_id='247694' first='James' last='Young'] in action!

8. Grosse Pointe South (6-0)

GPS send L'Anse North to 0-6 on the season. Needless to say, not the best competition for them.

9. East Lansing (3-3)

If [player_tooltip player_id='587870' first='Jace' last='Clarizio'] gets hurt in the playoffs, East Lansing is toast. That was proven this week against Davison. East Lansing is always a very talented team, and this year is no exception. I do fear that they don't have the same upside as a team like Muskegon.

10. Roseville (4-2)

A good ol' shutout for Roseville. Good win, and I expect similar results next week!

11. Saginaw Heritage (4-2)

Heritage earns a significant bump. My opinion of Lapeer and Grand Blanc have increased, and so does my opinion of Heritage. When "ON", this offense is unstoppable. Even the defense has shown signs of life, as they held Lapeer to just 7 two weeks ago.

12. Lansing Everett (5-1)

Man!!! I did not expect Everett to beat Grand Ledge! I honestly thought they'd struggle against a team that I perceived as more well-rounded. Look out for Everett- no matter what, this will be a FUN team to watch this postseason! I really wonder how far this team can go! I would love to see [player_tooltip player_id='567890' first='Javari' last='Funches'], [player_tooltip player_id='339714' first='Nizjai' last='Davidson'], Logick Lyoya and co to make noise in the postseason!

13. Forest Hills Northern (3-3)

A slight slip for Forest Hills Northern. They held close with #7 Muskegon during their game but got bulldozed by #4 Mona Shores this week.

14. Seaholm (6-0)

I'm just saying- a Seaholm vs. Lansing Everett matchup would be a must-watch football. Dream playoff scenarios aside, Seaholm just beat the brakes off of Troy. Expected? Honestly, yes. I trust this coaching staff; I trust the program's newfound consistency. The only thing holding Seaholm back right now is their strength of schedule. If they can beat either West Bloomfield or #2 Groves, they'll be in business for a possible Ford Field season.

15. Caledonia (3-2)

Caledonia looks like they're in a bit of a down year. The loss to Rockford was honestly expected. This will still be a playoff team that will likely play a familiar higher-ranked team like Mona Shoes or Byron Center early in the postseason. When that happens, I will not count Caledonia out. [player_tooltip player_id='551056' first='Brody' last='Betser'] is a very good Quarterback, and I know they have weapons on both sides of the ball that need some more experience.

16. Lakeland (4-2)

Lakeland does their job. Lakeland moves 0 spots in this week's rankings. For Lakeland to move down at all, teams will have to pass them, or they'll somehow have to lose against #30 South Lyon.

17. Milford (5-1)

A very good year for Milford thus far, but they've got three difficult matchups ahead. Week 9 against Lakeland will be an incredible game like usual!

18. Grand Rapids Northview (6-0)

Northview is 6-0... But they haven't played a team that's above .500. Next week against Grand Rapids Catholic Central will give us a whole lot more clarity on this team.

19. Carlson (5-1)

Is this an overreaction? Maybe. But as long as [player_tooltip player_id='563425' first='Izaiah' last='Wright'] is out, Carlson is at risk for an early playoff exit. Granted, they've dominated their entire league until this week's loss to Trenton, but still, I don't like teams with a "random" awful performance.

20. Livonia Franklin (3-3)

Franklin was a play away from being 2-4, but they ended up getting the win against rival Stevenson. I don't know of many players on this team, but I'm excited to watch their postseason run.

21. Portage Northern (4-2)

Northern's loss to St. Joseph says more about them than it does about Portage Northern. St. Joseph put themselves on the map with this win, and that says a lot about Portage Northern's pedigree. I think they'll be OK. [player_tooltip player_id='1529707' first='Vaughnzell' last='Tyus'] is playing well, and the whole team is well-rounded.

22. Allen Park (6-0)

Allen Park keeps suffering from bad league disease. Their strength of schedule is awful, and they have only one game scheduled against a ranked opponent. We'll see, but I'd definitely still give Carlson a better chance to make a run than Allen Park at this point in the season.

23. Flushing (5-1)

A solid win against Swartz Creek this week, but I'm really looking forward to next week's matchup against Fenton!

24. North Farmington (4-2)

Solid 19-18 win over Oak Park. Didn't impress me, didn't seem to perform bad either. They stay put at #24

25. Farmington (4-2)

The same result for Farmington. They play a bad program, and they win big. There's not much I can say in these instances!

26. Portage Central (4-2)

A solid 21-14 win over an underrated KZoo Central squad. I really hope that they're able to carry some of this momentum to next week as they play Portage Northern!

27. South Lyon East (3-3)

Well... They scored more points against Walled Lake Western than anyone this season! I'm still not confident that this is a ranked team, but I suppose time will tell.

28. Midland (5-1)

GREAT win for Midland! They earn a nice rankings bump up from the 31 spot. You can never sleep on Traverse City Central, and I'm honestly delighted Midland earned such a good win. Next week against #11 Heritage will be a true test!

29. Ferndale (4-2)

Beating Pontiac will change my opinion of a team 0% of the time. Not too much to go off of here.

30. South Lyon (3-3)

I really, really don't know if this team should be ranked. They've lost against three great teams, and they've beaten three OK-Bad teams. I'm betting on them being competitive against #16 Lakeland.

31. Warren Mott (4-1)*

Warren Mott's Week 6 matchup has not ended, as it was evacuated. Though at the time of the stoppage, Mott was up on bubble ranked team Warren Cousino. I trust they'll pull out the victory and remain ranked-worthy.

32. Marquette (5-1)

Hard to place Marquette. Though, they have a phenomenal week six matchup on deck against 6-0 Petoskey!
