As I mentioned in my last article about James, he will need to have it clicking early and often to defeat Mona Shores. He has the arm talent to get the ball to his playmakers, and he’s protected by multiple Power 4 offensive linemen, so I expect James to shine when the lights are the brightest.

Fresh off a grubbing of Forest Hills Northern in week 4 and a bye in week 3, Muskegon now stands to play another huge test. A rivalry game against Mona Shores this week will be a huge game for the Big Reds, and James will need to orchestrate the offense like he did last week in order to leave victorious. The Muskegon offense will rely on his good fundamentals, strong arm and good decision making to march them down the field against a tough defense. If you’re in the Muskegon area this week, go check this one out!

Coming off a season that saw Young lead North Muskegon to great success, he has now transferred to Muskegon High, where he will be supported by incredible talent all over the place. He has incredible physical tools that should translate to his new offense, and I think being on this big stage will help raise his stock to new heights!

James is undoubtedly one of the most covered prospects on this site. Early in his career, James was a high-upside QB from a lesser-known school. Last summer, James had a string of highly impressive camp and 7on7 performances. I especially remember the Hope 7on7 last year when him and

At the MHSAA camp in Jenison, James stood out as by far the best QB of the day, this time, wearing a Muskegon Big Red helmet. His fundamentals have always been solid, while his accuracy has steadily improved over the years. The offers haven’t come like I thought they could this offseason, but with a good season with the Big Reds, James will finally earn his due offers.

I’m not really sure why James hasn’t picked up the recruiting traction I am expecting, but I guess it’s part of the job to beat the drum for these underrated kids, like James! First, his fundamentals are super solid. He throws hard, accurately, and can fit the ball in some tight windows. His footwork looks good, he stays balanced and seems really in control at all times. I’m not sure if he’s being overlooked due to the size of his school or what, but I think any D3 team would be pumped to get him, and I think D2 schools should be doing their homework at least.

According to his Twitter, James has received one offer from DIII Calvin College. Other than that, nothing. From how productive and consistent James has been, it’s about time he gets much more attention. Last season, he threw for 2,623 yards, 33 touchdowns, 7 interceptions on 63% passing. He’s also always been a consistent 7on7 guy and someone who frankly doesn’t have an “offseason.” I’ve seen James make every throw that could ever be asked of a D2 prospect. His playmaking ability is also good, and fundamentals are consistent. At the very least, I know he’s good enough to get offers from every MIAA team.
