I’ve already said it a few times, but I think Cameron Sims Cameron Sims 6'2" | 225 lbs | DL/EDGE Muskegon | 2028 State MI is going to develop into an incredible player at Muskegon. On his highlight tape alone, there’s already a few extremely promising traits on display.

First, Cameron is bendy and very balanced. He does a very good job keeping a good center of gravity and is capable of spinning, swimming, ripping, and bull rushing without losing that balance. Additionally, I like Cameron’s effort. He doesn’t always win with his initial pass rush move, but he does a great job recovering, keeping his eyes in the backfield, and making a play when opportunity arises.

Cameron put up a really solid product on film this past season. He’s a stout end that stays low and does a great job of anchoring down and holding his own when setting the edge. Even against some good offensive linemen, they have a hard time moving him out of the way. He needs that little bit of extra explosion out of the stance and he could become an absolutely elite EDGE guy. He’s in a system that develops them at a high rate, so I won’t be at all surprised to see him develop into an absolute dude.

Biggest Strengths

Sims joins the rankings as yet another extremely high upside defensive lineman.

I really like his sophomore season tape. Primarily playing 5-tech, Cameron proved to be a very well-rounded player. Rushing the passer, he’s able to keep his pad level low and dip past slower offensive tackles. Even if his initial rush doesn’t work, Cameron is able to recover nicely. I especially like Cameron’s anchor and all-around power- he’s a physical DE who doesn’t allow himself to be moved in the run game. In fact he’s sometimes the one moving the offensive lineman into his own RB.

I view Cameron as a fringe D1 prospect right now. I trust Muskegon to develop Cameron, and I’m expecting a huge junior season.
