As of very recently, Preston has reclassified to the class of 2025 and will be transferring to the Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire. I was shocked to see that Preston only received one offer, from Saginaw Valley State. Preston was my #1 highest riser from last offseason. He proved that he could make any throw from the pocket, and that he has better processing abilities than most. I can’t wait to see him compete next month, and I fully believe that going to a more prominent school with a more difficult schedule will boost his recruitment.

I got to see Preston a ton last offseason, and he played like a high GLIAC prospect every time I watched him. At Grand Valley’s camp, he impressed everyone. As it stands now, it looks like he has offers from Hillsdale, Dayton, and JCU. In short, Preston has a rock-solid GLIAC grade.
The film below shows a bounty of great passes in addition to good runs. He’s one of those QBs who isn’t considered a dual-threat, but can use his legs when he needs to. Preston excels as a deep ball thrower, and I’ve seen him connect on deep fades, posts, etc dozens of times (with consistency). Sometimes I wish he released the ball a tad quicker, and there are times where he looks impatient in the pocket. These, along with other factors and a poor strength of schedule may be contributing to his recruitment not taking off. Still my gut tells me he’s a GLIAC guy. He’s got the size, arm talent, and a good enough understanding of how to read a defense.rnHe may need some polish, but I think Preston could be an exceptional QB in the GLIAC if given a few years to develop.
