This is actually my first time writing about Jaxon this year. It’s no secret that he’s blown up this season after last season was cut short due to injury.
I must say, Jaxon was also my most difficult ranking.
Although he just received an offer from Michigan State, we have him ranked #48, very close to several other RBs. That said, I have a high D2 – MAC grade on Jaxon.rnThere are some near-elite traits that Jaxson has that are bolstering his recruitment. First off, he’s a big-bodied player at 6’2″ 225 with long legs and amazing conditioning. He’s able to be a bellcow. In the film you can see below, you’ll also find that Jaxon has excellent vision and falls forward on practically all of his carries. Once he hits a hole, he’s difficult to stop or catch up with.rnI do think he can use some work with general fast-twitch athleticism and he’s generally unproven against great defenses. He reaches top speed quickly and is pretty dang fast, but I don’t see a lot of making guys miss like Russell-Dixon and other RBs just ahead of him can do. Granted Jaxon is much taller than most RBs, but that’s something I’d like to see. He also has little to no highlights in the pass game.
I beleive the sky is the limit for Jaxon. If he has an offer to go to the BIG 10 then I think he could be developed and coached up extremely well. His physical traits are impossible to coach, while other great factors like vision are extremely difficult to coach. He’s got that IT factor, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he’s able to develop in college.
Miguel is going to be a steal for whoever picks him up. I don’t understand why the whole GLIAC isn’t after him, and I truly think he’s a MAC talent.
Go to his Twitter, watch his film, talk to his coaches. I have, and everything I’ve seen tells me high GLIAC – MAC. I’ll get what I think are two of the most major gripes I can say about Miguel.rnThe offensive scheme he’s in doesn’t allow for many pass-blocking opportunities, so his reps there are limited. I also don’t know his measurements, but his arms don’t look incredibly long. He could also be a bit more agile, and can struggle against more agile rushers.
Other than that, he’s an elite run-blocking lineman. If you watch him in person, you’ll know that the mentality is there. His first step and initial pop are amazing. He’s able to drive back just about any opposing IDL, and once he’s got you, you’re either getting driven back 10yds or getting pancaked. Miguel may be the best run blocker in this class, especially when put up against rushers that are bulkier.

I got to see Preston a ton last offseason, and he played like a high GLIAC prospect every time I watched him. At Grand Valley’s camp, he impressed everyone. As it stands now, it looks like he has offers from Hillsdale, Dayton, and JCU. In short, Preston has a rock-solid GLIAC grade.
The film below shows a bounty of great passes in addition to good runs. He’s one of those QBs who isn’t considered a dual-threat, but can use his legs when he needs to. Preston excels as a deep ball thrower, and I’ve seen him connect on deep fades, posts, etc dozens of times (with consistency). Sometimes I wish he released the ball a tad quicker, and there are times where he looks impatient in the pocket. These, along with other factors and a poor strength of schedule may be contributing to his recruitment not taking off. Still my gut tells me he’s a GLIAC guy. He’s got the size, arm talent, and a good enough understanding of how to read a defense.rnHe may need some polish, but I think Preston could be an exceptional QB in the GLIAC if given a few years to develop.

Colbey Reed Colbey Reed 5’10” | 195 lbs | RB Belleville | 2024 State MI reminds me of Kellen Russell-Dixon Kellen Russell-Dixon 5’10” | 185 lbs | RB Grand Rapids Catholic Central | 2024 State MI from this same class. Colbey is a very well-built running back with exceptional power and explosiveness.
He’s a phenomenal between the tackles runner, and he rarely gets stuffed for negative yardage. When he finds a hole, he hits it hard and does his best to fall forward. When met with contact in the open field, Colby does an excellent job at either making a move or absorbing the contact and staying on his feet. There are times where he doesn’t hit the right gap, and his production in the passing game is limited. Other than that, he’s a great back who’s trending toward the GLIAC, and I think that’s exactly where he belongs.

Lastly we have CJ. He’s a very unconventional prospect being from Petoskey and having few midwest offers. He has offers from Louisville, Bowling Green State, Gerogia Tech, among others.rnAs you’ll see in the film below, CJ is an athletic, playmaking RB who excels at exceptional rushes. In other words, he breaks runs for TDs that probably should have only gone for a handful of yards. I’ve always loved his vision, patience, and he’s turned it up when it comes to speed and elusiveness in the past few years. If you view his Twitter, it seems like he desperately wants to be a BYU Cougar, so let’s see if that opportunity presents itself!
