Every Monday throughout the season, we kick off the week by looking at the ten best games across the state of Oklahoma. And because we have a hard time following our own rules, we have five bonus games in addition to the ten best games. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma every day this week and throughout the season for the best coverage of Oklahoma high school football. Later this week, we'll also take a look at the Pauls Valley Panthers as they prepare for a match-up of top five and unbeaten teams against Plainview. We'll put a more in-depth spotlight on arguably the best game of the week between Owasso and Union. And we'll finish off the week by taking a look at the players to watch this week as well as our latest installment of the Prep Redzone Oklahoma Player Of The Year Watchlist! For now, here's a breakdown on this week's top games across Oklahoma!

#6 BETHANY (4-0) AT #4 BLANCHARD (4-0)

It's easy to look ahead to the Blanchard-Tuttle showdown that is looming in week eight but don't overlook this game on Friday night. Defending champion Blanchard will host #6 Bethany in a match-up that features unbeaten teams and plenty of talent on both sides of the ball. Blanchard might have the best player in Class 4A with [player_tooltip player_id='268307' first='Brayson' last='Carter'] on both sides of the ball but Bethany isn't lacking talent either. The Bronchos have gotten off to a strong start behind their quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='917666' first='Jackson' last='Payne'] and running back [player_tooltip player_id='1348269' first='Judson' last='Gilliland'] in the last month. The winner here stays in the hunt for the district championship while the loser will have a lot of work to do moving forward.

#2 BIXBY (3-1) AT #7 MOORE (4-0)

At first glance, it's easy to just assume that #2 Bixby will go on the road and dominate this week five match-up with #7 Moore on Friday night. And look, Bixby has usually dominated their west side opponents but we'll be paying attention to the run games for each team in this one. Moore is coming off a big win on the road against Mustang and it was the running game that helped the Lions improve to 4-0 on the season. Sophomore running back [player_tooltip player_id='1506286' first='Ozias' last='Adams'] has been a star for Moore in the last two weeks. But Bixby's defense and specifically the rush defense has been lights out. They dominated Jenks last week and will look to do the same on Friday night.

#10 CHANDLER (2-2) AT #4 METRO CHRISTIAN (4-0)

Before the season began, we thought this week five match-up could end up deciding the district championship. #4 Metro Christian will host #10 Chandler and for the Lions, they rejoined the 2A-1 top ten this weekend after an impressive bounce back win last week. They started the year with a 1-2 record after facing a tough non-district schedule. We like what the Lions have on defense and they'll need it against a high-powered Metro Christian offense. The Patriots are 4-0 and have been a top five team in 2A-1 since the start of the year and they've been on a roll, scoring nearly 50 points in each of the last two weeks. Chandler hasn't given up more than 21 points all year and that makes for an interesting match-up.

#5 CUSHING (4-0) AT #10 GROVE (4-0)

Another 4A showdown will see #5 Cushing go on the road to northeastern Oklahoma to face #10 Grove and this is a match-up of two strong offenses. After the Tigers played a non-district slate featuring three really good 3A teams, the Tigers are now 4-0 and are continuing to improve each week. On the other side of the match-up, Grove is off to a 4-0 start as well and got a close road win over Catoosa on Friday night. Cushing quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1719591' first='Roman' last='Tucker'] was perfect on Friday night in the win and Grove's passing attack, led by [player_tooltip player_id='486287' first='Jackson' last='Gain'] has put up a lot of numbers so far through the first month. The winner of this game stays in the hunt for the district championship but future showdowns with Wagoner await.

#2 DAVIS (1-3) AT #5 BEGGS (4-0)

We've been asked why we kept Davis at #2 in Class 2A-2 despite starting the year with an 0-3 record. It's very simple. They played three of the top five teams in Class 3A and most 2A-2 teams would start 0-3. They rolled to an impressive win over Dibble last week and now have a tough district contest against a Beggs team that has jumped into the top five. Beggs has taken care of business so far this season but there is no doubt that this two week stretch is the toughest on the schedule. They face Davis on Friday night and then travel to Holdenville next week. We think this game is definitely flying under the radar across the state but it features two teams that could end up contending for the state championship.

#3 JONES (3-1) AT #2 MILLWOOD (3-1)

We're looking forward to getting to Oklahoma City on Friday night to see a monster match-up in Class 2A-1 as #2 Millwood will host #3 Jones. Washington is sitting on top of this class right now but the Falcons and Longhorns will square off with one another on Friday and both have a chance to contend with the Warriors for the gold ball this season. The Falcons are coming off a dominant win on the road where they put up 50+ points in the first quarter alone while the Longhorns had an impressive shutout win over Perry. Both teams come into this week with dynamic junior quarterbacks. Millwood's [player_tooltip player_id='434614' first='CJ' last='Turnbull'] is one of the more experienced quarterbacks in 2A-1 while Jones' [player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] is having a breakout season.

#1 OWASSO (4-0) AT #3 UNION (3-1)

It's the game of the week across the state as #1 Owasso goes on the road to face #3 Union. The Rams have already taken down the other two teams in the 6A-1 top four (Bixby and Jenks) and now they turn their attention to Union. The Redhawks have had an up and down year with injuries and turnovers but they're 3-1 and have the talent to pull off a win here. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='188014' first='Shaker' last='Reisig'] leads the way for Union who will look to take command in the district with a win. Owasso has featured a balanced attack that can beat opponents in several different ways. Sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1235926' first='Drew' last='Frankenfield'] hasn't looked like a sophomore all year and this would be another big win for his young career.

#3 PAULS VALLEY (4-0) AT #5 PLAINVIEW (4-0)

It's without a doubt the best game in Class 3A this week as #3 Pauls Valley goes on the road to face #5 Plainview in a critical district clash featuring unbeaten teams. First off, this game is not lacking firepower and playmakers but we also like how battle-tested each team is. Both squads faced tough non-district schedules and Pauls Valley just had the win of their young season, rallying to beat Kingfisher after trailing 40-22 going into the fourth quarter. Both teams are incredibly hungry to punch their ticket back to the 3A playoffs and at this point in the year, both look like serious contenders to the state championship. On Tuesday, we'll take a more in-depth look at Pauls Valley and their 4-0 start.

#5 POCOLA (3-1) AT #4 REJOICE CHRISTIAN (3-1)

We'll see quite a few good games in Class A-1 and A-2 but it's hard to argue that this is the game of the week in either of the divisions. #4 Rejoice Christian will host #5 Pocola and there are going to be some absolute playmakers on the field here. Rejoice will be led by senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='294265' first='Cale' last='Marley'] after he returned to the field from an injury last week. Pocola will have several players to watch this week but [player_tooltip player_id='382643' first='Dakotah' last='Terrell'] is hard to miss at 6'8 and one of the best prospects in the state's 2025 class. These two teams look like the favorites to capture the district championship but there's a lot of football to be played. But there is no doubt that to win the district title, you have to win this one.

#4 PUTNAM CITY (3-1) AT #3 CHOCTAW (2-2)

Fresh off a win where their offense could do no wrong, things don't get much easier for #3 Choctaw as they host an improved and talented Putnam City squad. The Pirates have won their last three games but this road contest with Choctaw is definitely going to be the toughest match-up they've had. If the Pirates are a true district title contender and possibly more in Class 6A-2, this is a game they have to win. For Choctaw, the Yellowjackets are looking to pick up momentum after a tough non-district schedule. The 1-2 punch of quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211555' first='Cash' last='Williams'] and running back [player_tooltip player_id='476091' first='Mayor' last='Morgan'] was tough to stop last week and they'll lean on that again in week five.

FIVE MORE GAMES TO WATCH!

#6 CHRISTIAN HERITAGE (2-2) AT #10 WYNNEWOOD (4-0)

Following a 1-2 start against a tough non-district slate, Christian Heritage bounced back last week with an impressive win over a Walters team that was unbeaten coming into week four. The Crusaders go on the road now and face a Wynnewood team that is off to a surprising 4-0 start. With a first year head coach and after last year's losing record, the Savages have looked great so far through the first four weeks of the season.

#8 NORMAN (4-0) AT #4 JENKS (1-3)

Not many would have predicted the records in this match-up as Jenks is 1-3 and Norman is 4-0 but here we are as we head into week five. The Trojans will be hungry to get last week's taste out of their mouth following the loss to Bixby. Meanwhile Norman has looked solid, jumping out to a 4-0 start and they've looked really good on both sides of the ball. But there is no doubt that this game will be Norman's toughest test so far this season.

#9 PRYOR (3-1) AT #10 TAHLEQUAH (2-2)

It's only week five but it's not crazy to think that this contest between Pryor and Tahlequah could end up being an elimination game and provide the difference between getting in or out of the playoffs. Pryor is 3-1 and the Tigers have looked solid to start the year but they go on the road to face a Tahlequah team that is hungry to bounce back after a tough loss to Claremore last week. And they can't afford another district loss.

#9 TALIHINA (4-0) AT #7 GORE (3-1)

The first of a pair of games this week that feature Class A-2 squads will see #7 Gore hosting #9 Talihina. The Pirates are continuing to climb the Class A-2 rankings after bringing almost everyone back from last year's team. This begins a big week for Gore as they host Talihina and then travel to Regent Prep next week. Talihina is still unbeaten but this will be their toughest test of the young season.

#8 VELMA-ALMA (3-1) AT #10 RINGLING (2-2)

Another game to look out for in Class A-2 will see #8 Velma-Alma square off with #10 Ringling. Both teams have hit speed bumps early on in the season but are still two of the teams to watch in this district and in the class. Velma-Alma is making the transition from 8-man football to 11-man football look like an easy one and Ringling is slowly but surely getting used to a first year head coach. The winner here will be in a good position moving forward.
