There was a lot of player movement this offseason but arguably the most underrated move was

going from Millwood to Putnam City. Simply put, Turnbull is a winning quarterback and he has definitely brought that mentality into the Putnam City locker room. This Pirate team was going to be really good this season but adding a player like Turnbull turned them into a true state champion contender. Turnbull played in three straight state title games with Millwood. He knows what it takes to make it to Edmond. The Putnam City signal caller made a massive jump in his overall development between his sophomore and junior seasons. And we think that he could still make another jump at the next level.

gives Putnam City an experienced signal caller that is used to competing for state championships. Turnbull started for Millwood the last three seasons, helping lead them to the state championship game each year. He’s firmly established himself as one of the top quarterbacks in the state and we think he could help guide Putnam City to new heights this season. He’s incredibly productive and last season, it all started to come together as he was incredibly smooth with everything he did in the backfield. And when you look at the skill talent on this Putnam City roster, Turnbull is going to have plenty of weapons to move this Pirate offense up and down the field.
(2024 All State Honorable Mention)

is in a very similar conversation as Webb and Campbell. All three have started since they were freshmen and all three have turned into absolute stars at the position. Just like with Webb and Campbell, Turnbull seemingly took that next step during his junior season. He’s always been a really good player for the Falcons and is a big reason why they’ve played for the state championship three years in a row now. But Turnbull has become a really good quarterback and we could see it on film and in person during the 2024 season. Talking with Millwood’s coaches after one of the bigger regular season games, they said that it’s all finally clicked for Turnbull and his smooth ability to operate the offense is not something that goes unnoticed.

comes into this week’s game as one of the more experienced players on the field. Turnbull has been QB1 for the Falcons since the very first game of his freshman year. And this season, he’s taken a significant step forward as a quarterback and as a prospect for the next level. Turnbull has always been very talented and it didn’t take long to figure out that he had the potential to be a special player. But this season, it’s like he’s in full control of this Millwood offense. He can make plays with his arm and with his legs if he needs to. He’s a dangerous player and more than capable of leading his team to a title.

in the same category as Campbell at Tuttle. Turnbull has started since the first game of the 2022 season and is one of the more experienced quarterbacks in the state. And after having solid freshman and sophomore seasons as a good quarterback, he’s now knocking on the door of being great. We got a chance to watch the Millwood standout earlier this season and it was like watching a different quarterback. He was about as calm, cool and collected as we’ve seen from a quarterback this season and while it sounds like a cliche, it also looked like Turnbull had that lightbulb moment. He’s starting to put all the pieces together and becoming a complete quarterback.
