2027 Rankings Update 2.0: ATH

With that in mind, we are currently in another round of rankings updates for the state of Kentucky. After already updating the classes of 2025 and 2026, the class of 2027 rankings update has now been officially published. With that being said, I wanted to take the next week or so to break down these rankings by position. Emongo is an electric playmaker on the offensive side of the ball, showing the speed and elusiveness to break away for a big play at any given moment once he hits the open field. He finished his freshman year with 20 carries for 382 yards and five touchdowns along with three receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown in 12 games. Emongo also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and made an impact on defense as a freshman, finishing the year with 22 tackles and one interception which he returned for a touchdown. He played his freshman year at Scott County but has transferred to Western Hills for his sophomore year. On defense, Harmon lines up at safety where he is very reliable in pass coverage, showing the ability to read the quarterback and break on the ball with perfect timing to make a play. He also does a good job of filling the lane to provide support against the run. Harmon will also be playing some receiver for Western Hills this season. On defense, Tomlin plays outside linebacker where he is dominant against the run. He does a great job of reading his keys then using his speed to flow to the ball carrier in a hurry to make the tackle. Tomlin finished his freshman year with 50 tackles and four tackles for loss in 10 games. He also plays a key role on offense, finishing last season with 15 carries for 123 yards and two touchdowns along with eight receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. Goodin had a solid first year as the starting quarterback for Collins last season, completing 162/272 passes for 2,071 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 11 games. While he is an impressive passer, Kade is at his best as a ball carrier, using his speed and elusiveness to break away on big runs at any given moment. He finished last season with 186 carries for 1,100 yards and 18 touchdowns. Goodin has also spent some time at camps as a wide receiver. Gavin had a strong freshman year at receiver for Hazard, finishing the year with 39 receptions for 350 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. He has shown the ability to use his speed and route running ability to his advantage to create separation with ease. Johnson also makes an impact on defense where he lines up at safety. He finished last season with 63 tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception.
