Johnson is a dangerous deep threat, using his speed to create separation and athleticism to come away with jump balls with ease. He has also shown the ability to use his speed and elusiveness in the open field to pick up yards after the catch. Gavin also carried the ball 43 times for 265 yards and a touchdown as a junior and played a key role on defense, recording 114 tackles, one sack, and an interception. Johnson recently picked up his first offer from Bellarmine and I can see more coming his way this offseason.

Through six games, he leads his team in receiving with 42 catches for 483 yards and five touchdowns. Johnson is a dangerous deep threat, using his speed to blow by opposing defensive backs with ease. He is also impressive after the catch, showing the ability to get up the field quickly to pick up extra yards. Gavin has also scored one rushing touchdown this season and has made an impact on defense, accounting for 47 tackles and one interception. Johnson has received a strong amount of college interest and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some offers come his way soon.

As a sophomore, Johnson caught 85 passes for 1,069 yards and 13 touchdowns. He is a very reliable jump ball/contested catch target, using his high catch radius and athleticism to go up and catch passes at their highest point along with the strong hands to pull in the catch through contact. Johnson has also shown the speed to pose as a dangerous deep threat. Gavin also scored two rushing touchdowns and returned one kickoff for a touchdown last season while also making an impact on defense, finishing the year with 51 tackles and a team-leading two interceptions. Johnson doesn’t currently hold any offers but I can see that changing soon as he has received a good amount of college interest.

He also has shown the speed to pose as a deep threat and to pick up yards after the catch. Gavin also finished the regular season with two rushing touchdowns, one kickoff return for a touchdown, 50 tackles, and two interceptions. Johnson doesn’t currently hold any offers but he is a player to keep an eye on heading into his junior year.

Gavin is a dangerous deep threat, showing the speed to create separation while also showing the athleticism and hands to go up and catch passes at their highest point in contested jump ball situations. He is also electric after the catch, using his speed and elusiveness to turn short passes and screens into big gains. Johnson has also scored two rushing touchdowns and returned one kickoff for a touchdown this season. He is also an impressive defensive back, accounting for 34 tackles and one interception so far this season. Gavin doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and should be a player to continue to watch over the next few years.

He also played a key role on defense at safety, finishing the game with three tackles and an interception. Gavin doesn’t currently hold any offers but he has received some college interest and should be a player to watch this season.

Coming in at number five on my list of standouts is Gavin Johnson Gavin Johnson 6'1" | 185 lbs | ATH Boyle County | 2027 State KY , an athlete at Hazard High School. Johnson stands out with his ability to elevate off the ground to haul in the touchdown pass as well as his ability to disorient defenders in coverage with his solid wingspan and physical edge. I also like how Johnson can run the ball into enemy territory himself with his electric speed off the snap.
