Uncommitted 2027's in KY to Watch This Fall

The 2026 KHSAA season marks the final campaign for the incoming seniors who are a part of the 2027 class. Many of the top prospects from around the state have already made their college decision or have already narrowed their list down. Below are five uncommitted prospects in Kentucky with potential to play at the next level.    [player_tooltip player_id='1278396' first='CJ' last='Hall'] has the size and speed to play big-time college football one day. Hall lines up as a defensive tackle, but looks like an EDGE rusher coming out of his stance. He often overpowers his opposition and is a game-wrecker behind the line of scrimmage. Hall showed this by finishing the season with 47 total tackles (33 solo) to go with 11 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He currently holds six offers, including Akron, Dartmouth, EKU, UT Martin, Brown, and Miami (OH).     [player_tooltip player_id='378830' first='Gavin' last='Johnson'] is a speedster who transferred to Boyle County for his senior season after three years at Hazard. Most effective at the wide receiver position, Johnson finished this past season with 75 receptions for 887 yards and eight touchdowns. Hazard used his speed to their advantage last season by setting him up for plays in quick schemes. His quick feet help him navigate through the defense and into the open field. Johnson holds one Division I offer to play at Troy. However, he also holds an offer from Bellarmine as well.     [player_tooltip player_id='2252094' first='Ashton' last='Pflugner'] is a long, athletic tight end from Lexington Catholic with big-time Saturday potential. He has long strides that help him outrun the secondary and has good ability in contested catch situations. He's a good vertical threat despite playing tight end, but he is also a big body along the offensive line in block schemes. Pflugner currently holds three Division I offers, including Butler, Army, and Air Force.     [player_tooltip player_id='482999' first='Gage' last='Chapman'] is a big-time performer on both sides of the football for Murray. On the offensive side of the ball, he's an explosive running back who has long strides and good vision with the football in his hands. Defensively, he's one of the best at the 3A level, having finished his junior year with a whopping 149 total tackles (81 solo) in 2025. He demonstrated great awareness and play recognition playing middle linebacker, where he projects well at the next level. As a result of his success, Chapman has received offers from Murray State and UT Martin, with more likely to come.     [player_tooltip player_id='2091044' first='Foxx' last='Coons'] has a strong arm and a quick release, and will look to lead Woodford County deep in the playoffs this season. Coons is accurate deep down the field, does a great job at leading his receiver, and makes good decisions with the football. When he senses pressure, he steps up in the pocket. Coons finished his junior season with 41 touchdown passes compared to eight interceptions while throwing for 3,331 yards on a 62.3% completion percentage. He currently holds offers from Peru State, Lincoln University, and Georgetown College.
