At the end of January, we officially released our first 2029 rankings in the state of Kentucky. Since then, I have broken down the top five players at each position in the class. With that being said, I have been continuing our 2029 rankings coverage by focusing on some players who have caught my attention but are just outside the top five at their position. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, here are some under the radar defensive prospects to keep an eye on in the class of 2029 in the state of Kentucky.

[player_tooltip player_id='1780675' first='Duncan' last='Barlow'] caught my attention when breaking down freshman year film. He lines up at inside linebacker where he has proven to be very reliable against the run. Barlow has a great nose for the football, locating the ball carrier quickly then using his speed to flow to them in a hurry. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he does a great job of running his feet through contact to secure the tackle. Barlow will be a player to keep an eye on as he earns more opportunities at the varsity level moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1780024' first='Nick' last='Stojkovic'] is another inside linebacker who impressed as a freshman. He is very impressive against the run, showing the ability to read his keys then come downhill to get to the ball carrier with a sense of urgency. Nick explodes through contact once he gets to the ball carrier and finishes his tackles with a ton of physicality. He has also shown some promise on the offensive side of the ball at running back. Stojkovic will be a player worth keeping an eye on as he continues to develop over the next few years.

[player_tooltip player_id='1172375' first='Jeremiah' last='Brown'] is a player who has been gaining some interest from college coaches this offseason. He lines up at inside linebacker where he is at his best against the run. Brown explodes out of his stance and uses his speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry, showing the strength to fight through blocks in his path. He has proven to be a very reliable tackler in the open field once he gets to the ball carrier. Brown also played a role out of the backfield at running back as a freshman. Jeremiah currently holds offers from Grambling State and Miami (OH), and I expect more to come his way as his role in the Broncos' defense continues to grow.

My final under-the-radar 2029 defensive prospect in Kentucky to keep an eye on is [player_tooltip player_id='1648906' first='Jacorieon' last='Ford']. Ford saw some varsity action as a freshman at corner where he proved to be very reliable in man coverage. He does a great job of opening up and using his speed to run with receivers to mirror their routes. When the ball is thrown his way, he does a great job of reacting with perfect timing to make a play, finishing his freshman year with one interception and seven pass breakups. He also recorded 30 tackles and three tackles for loss this past season. Ford will be a player to pay close attention to as he continues to grow and develop over the next few seasons.
