Barlow is an impressive young linebacker with the ideal frame and the kind of motor you want in the middle of a defense. He can play in the box, create pressure when turned loose, and has the strength to take on blockers without getting stuck. He’s powerful, does a nice job shedding blocks, and consistently finds his way to the football. I also appreciate how level-headed he plays emotionally. He doesn’t get out of position chasing plays and stays consistent from snap to snap. For a younger linebacker, he has a lot of the traits you want in the 2nd level.

Duncan Barlow Duncan Barlow 6'2" | 190 lbs | LB/EDGE Sayre | 2029 State KY is a hybrid linebacker and EDGE rusher for Sayre. However, he excels in the middle of the defense. Barlow is patient and lets the play come to him. He has a high IQ, as evidenced by his ability to quickly recognize a play and react appropriately. He’s a hard-hitter, but has shown his abilities in coverage. However, Barlow is most effective at stopping the run.

He lines up at inside linebacker where he has proven to be very reliable against the run. Barlow has a great nose for the football, locating the ball carrier quickly then using his speed to flow to them in a hurry. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he does a great job of running his feet through contact to secure the tackle. Barlow will be a player to keep an eye on as he earns more opportunities at the varsity level moving forward.
