Those writeup’s included both, King Salley King Salley 5'10" | 185 lbs | QB Imhotep | 2028 PA (215 Extreme 13U) and Elvis Koutsakis Jr. Elvis Koutsakis Jr. 5'9" | 150 lbs | QB PA (Ginn Elite 14U) who both call the Keystone State home. But what about some other Pennsylvania 2028 prospects that shined at AYF Nationals? Here’s a look at some additional standouts from the AYF National Tournament that also hail from the Commonwealth.
– Stokes put an exclamation point on his youth career, by helping the Brick City Lions 13U team–which is based out of New Jersey–to a strong finish at AYF Nationals
– Have seen him several times and he looks like he’s starting to hit his stride as prospect. Has gotten noticeably taller in the last calendar year, listing himself as a 5-foot-10 and 185 pounds now
– It was a busy 2023 football season for Stokes-Chism, to say the least. He played both center and defensive tackle for Brick City, the SHSB Saints and Pennsylvania Little Quakers this fall
Highlights
– There’s no questions about it, Toudle was the alpha male on the Philly Blackhawks 12U team at AYF Nationals
– He’s a physically advanced kid who stands in the neighborhood of 5-foot-10 and 150-160 pounds and was still young enough to play 12U ball as a current eighth-grader.
-Looked the part right away with long arms and a strong build to go along with the length. I’m not sure of his reclass situation or status, but Toudle is a kid that has the ability to contribute early in his high school career–depending on where he ends up going
– From a raw talent perspective, LaCourt has an insanely high ceiling and is a really impressive looking prospect. He was one of the first kids that caught my eye for the 215 Extreme 13U squad at AYF Nationals
– When I last wrote about him in October, I listed him as an ATH (athlete) because I wasn’t totally sold on where he would end up. After watching at AYF Nationals, I stand firm that ATH is the best position to list him at. He can play wide receiver, or bump inside and to be used as an athletic tight end. Defensively, he can be very disruptive as a defensive end, at times.
– With a 6-foot-2, 165-pound build frame it’s no surprise he has his pick of high school’s to choose from in the greater Philadelphia area. As of this write-up, he is down to: Imhotep, Roman Catholic, Neumann-Goretti and West Catholic
– Walsh is one of the middle school prospects I’ve watched from start to finish. First saw him as a sixth grader at our first ever PRZ Next showcase in New Jersey and now he wrapped up his pre-high school ball career with the Brick City Lions
– A tireless worker, quiet leader and was a great kid to have a conversation with. He has some decisions to make about high school ball, since he lives in Pennsylvania–about two hours from New Jersey–but has the attention of some of the private high school’s in North Jersey. Going the public school route in Pennsylvania is also on the table
– Athletically, he’s in the conversation with a lot of the better kids I saw at AYF Nationals. He has grown a bit, but is still shorter in stature in comparison to many other prospects that are starting to separate themselves–something he’s fully aware of. He’ll be one that I assume may be slept on early in high school in terms of rankings and such, however, he has the demeanor and ability to play after high school. It’ll just depend where and at what level
Highlights
– Fell in love with this dude at AYF Nationals after finally getting my chance to see him play live, for the Ginn Elite 14U team. Though he’s from Western Pennsylvania, he and his quarterback Elvis Koutsakis Jr. Elvis Koutsakis Jr. 5’9″ | 150 lbs | QB PA participated with the Ohio-based squad
– Spent most of his time playing cornerback at an elite level, but also got a few touches as a running back. Ginn Elite was loaded with skill position players and the eventual AYF 14U National Champions only had one ball to go around
– I’m going to continue to leave him listed as an ATH (athlete) at this point, but I’d be willing to bet he’s eventually considered at defensive back. Black Jr. has the speed, the hands and power to continue to be thought of as one of the best players in the state. Get familiar here.
– Played both wide receiver and defensive back for the 215 Extreme 13U team down ay AYF Nationals and stood out. If you’re gonna wear jersey no. 0, you better be a dude–and he is
– The 215 Extreme 13U squad saw a ton of talented teams and Murphy was tested earlier and often. I like him a bit more as a corner back at this point, but he should be considered one of the better ATH’s (athlete) in Philadelphia at this point
– Like many of his teammates, he is known throughout the city and has his pick of high school’s. Per his instagram, he has choices down to three schools: St. Joe’s Prep, Roman Catholic and Imhotep
– The Brick City Lions 13U team out of New Jersey finished with a nice trio of Pennsylvania prospects on their roster, including Bangura. Alongside fellow lineman Kayden Stokes-Chism Kayden Stokes-Chism 5’10” | 200 lbs | DL PA , he played for Brick City in New Jersey and in the CYO League in Philadelphia
– Did a nice job up front as the left guard on offensive, but the big man buttered/butters his bread as an interior defensive tackle
– There’s a ton of power in his shorter, compact frame. Upon getting penetration, he moves very well for a guy with his build up and down the line of scrimmage. If he was a defensive end, it would be described as having a “high motor”. Either way, he can make plays on the interior up front
– Absolutely cemented himself as one of the top 2028 running backs in all of the Northeast with his performance at AYF Nationals. McCorkle has an “IT-FACTOR” to his game and it was fun to watch
– Passed the eye test right away in terms of his build, the way he moved and the no-nonsense attitude he carried himself with, during the games I watched
– Using straightforward speed, north/south running and quick strides, he gashed some of the top defenses (and 2028 prospects) in the country
– In my opinion, the top wide receiver on the 215 Extreme 13U team down at AYF Nationals. Not the most productive week in terms of production–but Burgess can go
– He was on my Pennsylvania 2028 Watchlist (internal document right now) before I saw him at AYF Nationals and the kid was even better than I had anticipated
– Something about the way he runs routes and the way he moves with the ball in his hands after the catch, was very reminiscent of Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson. Quick, flashy and not afraid to embarrass a defender if he gets the chance
