Enjoy!

Happy New Year! We're kicking off 2024 by taking a look back at the very best players during the 2023 football season! It's All State week on Prep Redzone Oklahoma. Continuing today and over the next several days, we'll have posts every day with our All State selections. Yesterday, we unveiled our All State first team selections. Today, we have the second team picks. Tomorrow, we'll have our third team selections and then on Thursday, we'll have our All State Honorable Mentions.

All State selections were decided based on a number of factors. Nominations from the head coach, nominations from other coaches, individual numbers, team success and overall impact on the game.

Without further ado, here are our selections for the 2023 All State 2nd Team!

OFFENSE

QB - [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] - Junior - Muskogee (Player Of The Year Finalist)

Muskogee junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='211556' first='Jamarian' last='Ficklin'] was one of the state's best players as he helped guide the Roughers to their first state championship in nearly four decades. Ficklin has a chance to be very special moving forward.

RB - [player_tooltip player_id='448519' first='Jaylen' last='Harper'] - Senior - Guthrie

Guthrie senior running back [player_tooltip player_id='448519' first='Jaylen' last='Harper'] was one of the state's best running backs from very early on this season. Harper was a running back that made 150 yards and three touchdowns seem like an easy routine every single week.

RB - [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] - Sophomore - Jenks

Jenks standout [player_tooltip player_id='402378' first='KD' last='Jones'] was our PRZ-Oklahoma Freshman Of The Year in 2022 and followed that up with a sophomore season where he earned All State honors. Jones once again established himself as one of the best in Oklahoma.

RB - [player_tooltip player_id='393974' first='Rodney' last='Fields'] - Senior - Del City

Del City senior and Oklahoma State signee [player_tooltip player_id='393974' first='Rodney' last='Fields'] was an absolute star for the Eagles this fall. Fields was incredibly dynamic with the football in his hands. He put up monster numbers in a memorable season for the Eagles.

WR - [player_tooltip player_id='129399' first='Kayden' last='McGee'] - Senior - Muskogee

Muskogee senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='129399' first='Kayden' last='McGee'] finished off his high school career with a state championship. McGee was once again one of the state's best wide receivers in the state. He lived up to the nickname "Big Play McGee" this fall.

TE - [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] - Junior - Washington

Washington finished off another perfect season with a state championship. Junior tight end [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] was their leading receiver this fall and has emerged as one of the nation's best tight end prospects in the state's 2025 class.

OL - [player_tooltip player_id='350246' first='Blake' last='Cherry'] - Junior - Owasso

Owasso junior offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='350246' first='Blake' last='Cherry'] has been one of the state's better offensive linemen since his sophomore season. He helped lead an Owasso offense that was one of the more balanced units in the state this season.

OL - [player_tooltip player_id='376564' first='Colten' last='Christian'] - Senior - Collinsville

Collinsville senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='376564' first='Colten' last='Christian'] evolved into one of the state's best at his position. We've gotten a chance to see Christian a few times over the last two years. He kept improving and is now one of the state's best.

OL - [player_tooltip player_id='110742' first='Ezra' last='Ballinger'] - Senior - NOAH

NOAH senior [player_tooltip player_id='110742' first='Ezra' last='Ballinger'] is a lot like Christian in the sense that he's continued to improve every time we have seen him in person. Ballinger was dominant when we saw him back in the spring and had a strong senior season.

OL - [player_tooltip player_id='350245' first='Ryker' last='Haff'] - Junior - Owasso

Owasso junior lineman [player_tooltip player_id='350245' first='Ryker' last='Haff'] is the other half of the Owasso junior tackles that have been among the state's best for over a year now. With Cherry on one end and Haff on the other, the Rams were dominant in 2023.

OL - [player_tooltip player_id='467408' first='Ryley' last='Kester'] - Sophomore - Sand Springs

Sand Springs sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='467408' first='Ryley' last='Kester'] is only the second sophomore to earn All State second team honors. Kester is another example of an OL prospect that has been a star from very early on in his high school career and is only getting better.

DEFENSE

DL - [player_tooltip player_id='1096187' first='Justin' last='Kirk'] - Senior - Bixby

Bixby had a nasty front seven that was arguably the best in the state. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='1096187' first='Justin' last='Kirk'] was just one of several defensive linemen that were absolute game-wreckers. Kirk would finish his senior year with over ten sacks on the season.

DL - [player_tooltip player_id='595681' first='Naithen' last='Spaulding'] - Senior - Washington

Washington senior [player_tooltip player_id='595681' first='Naithen' last='Spaulding'] came into this season with high expectations and he exceeded them. Spaulding became Washington's top defensive lineman this fall and led the team in sacks and tackles for loss in 2023.

DL - [player_tooltip player_id='360241' first='Sam' last='Rhoades V'] - Senior - Bishop Kelley

Bishop Kelley senior and Air Force signee [player_tooltip player_id='360241' first='Sam' last='Rhoades V'] was one of the top defensive linemen we watched in person this season. Rhoades was another example of a game-wrecker coming off the edge for the Comets this season.

LB - [player_tooltip player_id='994657' first='Eli' last='Moroney'] - Senior - Guthrie

Guthrie senior [player_tooltip player_id='994657' first='Eli' last='Moroney'] led a Blue Jay defense that was one of the best units in the state this fall. Moroney was arguably the best linebacker in the state for the first month as he had double digit sacks before non-district play even ended.

LB - [player_tooltip player_id='189939' first='Jackson' last='Rhodes'] - Senior - Woodland

Woodland senior [player_tooltip player_id='189939' first='Jackson' last='Rhodes'] was once again one of the state's top two-way players in Class A. Rhodes was a versatile standout on offense but on defense, Rhodes was one of the more productive linebackers in Class A.

LB - [player_tooltip player_id='356897' first='Jashawn' last='Mccalister'] - Junior - Del City

Del City junior [player_tooltip player_id='356897' first='Jashawn' last='Mccalister'] is an athletic standout that we are keeping an eye on moving forward. Mccalister was incredibly productive and is quickly turning into a player to watch in the state's 2025 class moving forward.

LB - [player_tooltip player_id='110748' first='Teyton' last='Chandler'] - Senior - Victory Christian

Victory Christian senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='110748' first='Teyton' last='Chandler'] has been the state's most productive linebackers in the state over the last four seasons. Chandler had another stellar season of 100+ tackles as one of the state's best.

DB - [player_tooltip player_id='268365' first='Braelon' last='Adamah'] - Senior - Del City

Del City senior [player_tooltip player_id='268365' first='Braelon' last='Adamah'] is another example of a Del City standout who was a star on both sides of the ball. But on defense, Adamah was at his best. He was incredibly productive with over 100 tackles and multiple interceptions.

DB - [player_tooltip player_id='268307' first='Brayson' last='Carter'] - Junior - Blanchard

Blanchard junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='268307' first='Brayson' last='Carter'] has been a good wide receiver but he emerged as a complete game changer for the Lions on defense. Carter helped lead Blanchard to a state championship and was a star in the secondary.

DB - [player_tooltip player_id='876672' first='Camden' last='Pratcher'] - Senior - Norman North

Norman North senior [player_tooltip player_id='876672' first='Camden' last='Pratcher'] was one of the state's top lockdown cornerbacks in the state. He really exceeded all preseason expectations with a breakout season this fall. Pratcher enjoyed a very special 2023 season.

DB - [player_tooltip player_id='640582' first='Mykel' last='Patterson-McDonald'] - Senior - Westmoore

Westmoore senior and Oklahoma signee [player_tooltip player_id='640582' first='Mykel' last='Patterson-McDonald'] enjoyed a breakout season in 2022 and backed that up with an All State-caliber season in 2023. The Westmoore standout was one of the best safeties in the state.

KICKER/ATHLETES

K - [player_tooltip player_id='1094894' first='Dylan' last='Davidson'] - Senior - Perkins-Tryon

Perkins-Tryon senior [player_tooltip player_id='1094894' first='Dylan' last='Davidson'] wrapped up his high school career with a very successful senior season. In addition to being one of the state's best kickers, he also doubled as a standout in the secondary and was one of Oklahoma's best.

ATH - [player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] - Junior - Wagoner

Wagoner junior standout [player_tooltip player_id='530573' first='Kale' last='Charboneau'] enjoyed a breakout sophomore season and then came back with an even better junior year. He set single season records at the quarterback position and was one of the team's leading tacklers.

ATH - [player_tooltip player_id='393973' first='Micheal' last='Graham'] - Senior - Westmoore

Westmoore senior [player_tooltip player_id='393973' first='Micheal' last='Graham'] emerged as one of 6A-1's top quarterbacks in 2023. Graham was a dual-threat nightmare for opponents to deal with this season. He also turned around and was a ball hawk at the cornerback position.

ATH - [player_tooltip player_id='192928' first='Ryan' last='Grayson'] - Junior - Beggs

Beggs junior [player_tooltip player_id='192928' first='Ryan' last='Grayson'] became an elite game changer this season as the Demons were hit with the injury bug. Grayson did just about everything for Beggs this season and showed why he's one of the elite athletes in the state's 2025 class.

ATH - [player_tooltip player_id='231981' first='Tre' last='Stevenson'] - Senior - Perkins-Tryon

Perkins-Tryon senior [player_tooltip player_id='231981' first='Tre' last='Stevenson'] wrapped up his career with another stellar season. On offense, Stevenson was one of the toughest running backs in the state and then he turned around and was a force on the defensive line for the Demons.

ATH - [player_tooltip player_id='294261' first='Trey' last='Washington'] - Junior - Carl Albert

Carl Albert junior [player_tooltip player_id='294261' first='Trey' last='Washington'] showed he can dominate in all three phases of the game. He had another strong year at wide receiver. He also emerged as one of their better defenders and he's one of the best punters in the state.
