The Irish are being led by junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='922869' first='Damon' last='Cochran II'] on the offensive side of the ball. Cochran took over as QB1 in the offseason and the Missouri baseball commit is having a strong start to his junior season. But the competition that McGuinness is about to face will be the toughest they'll see all year. This week, they host Guthrie and next week they face top-ranked Carl Albert. But this week, Cochran and the Irish offense will attempt to do something nobody has been able to do this season. Guthrie has shut out four of their five opponents this year. The only points they've given up came from a field goal to 4A's #4 Tuttle. Cochran and the Irish will look to put up some points and try to pull off the upset.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["133792"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"Earlier this week, one of the state's top 2024 speedsters announced his commitment. Sulphur senior standout [player_tooltip player_id='133792' first='Damontre' last='Patterson'] committed to New Hampshire on Sunday evening. Patterson is one of the fastest prospects in the state's 2024 class and he has legit track speed on the football field. Patterson was first on our radar for what he was able to do on the defensive side of the ball at cornerback. But over the last year or so, he's become more of a playmaker on the offensive side at wide receiver. #5 Sulphur will play host to #9 Pauls Valley in a massive district contest on Friday night. Patterson will play a big role on Friday night. The speedster gives the Bulldogs a big home run threat that they could certainly use on Friday night. Pauls Valley has their back against the wall after an 0-2 start in district play so Friday's game has major playoff implications.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["188013"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"#5 Edmond Santa Fe hits the road to face #8 Mustang and the Broncos will be hungry after suffering their first loss last week on the road against Owasso. The Wolves are still in the district title conversation after back to back wins over city rivals Edmond Memorial and Edmond North. And in those two games, junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='188013' first='Demarius' last='Robinson'] has been as close to unstoppable as you can get. In the last two weeks alone, Robinson has run for over 600 yards and ten touchdowns. With another solid performance on Friday night, he'll be over 1,000 yards for the season in only five games. Robinson has eclipsed 100 yards and had at least one touchdown in every game this season. After missing time last year as a sophomore, Robinson has clearly been one of the top running backs in Oklahoma this season. Robinson and the Wolves look to keep the momentum going on Friday.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["211559"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Arguably one of the top games this week takes place in 6A-2 as #2 Choctaw hits the road to face #3 Deer Creek in a game that will more than likely decide the district championship. The Yellowjackets are unbeaten on the season and they've dominated over the last few weeks. But Friday's game is going to be their toughest contest until the playoffs roll around. Choctaw will lean on versatile junior [player_tooltip player_id='211559' first='JuJu' last='Smith'] in this one. Whether it's as Choctaw's top receiver or if he's helping out in the running game, Smith provides a spark on the offensive side of the ball. Smith also has the ability to be a playmaker on defense and in the special teams department. Choctaw got the best of Deer Creek in last year's meeting but Smith has to be looking forward to this one. Smith and the Yellowjackets know how important this game is going to be for playoff purposes in November.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["587262"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"#2 Del City hits the road for the second straight week against a ranked team with major district implications. Last week, the Eagles took down McAlester 35-21. This week, they'll travel to face a hungry Sapulpa team after the #10 Chieftains tripped up last week against Coweta. The Eagles will look to take a page out of Coweta's playbook this week and force turnovers and lean on a strong rushing attack. Leading the Del City defense will be sophomore linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='587262' first='Ricklan' last='B Holmes II'] and he'll also turn around and play offense as well. The Eagles will more than likely be without their star running back for the second straight week after he left the McAlester game early. Holmes filled in at times at the running back position last week and it won't be surprising to see more of that this week. The Eagles will continue to control their destiny with a win.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-651ec15831655"} /-->

[player_tooltip player_id='992746' first='Ali' last='McCoy'] - 2025 Running Back - Sand Springs

We featured Sand Springs junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='992746' first='Ali' last='McCoy'] earlier this week in our "Midseason Breakout Stars" article. McCoy has been the top breakout star in Class 6A-2 this season, becoming one of the better running backs in the class. The #5 Sandites will look for McCoy to continue his strong junior campaign on Thursday night as they travel to face #4 Stillwater. The Sandites can grab a lot of headlines with a win over the defending champs.

[player_tooltip player_id='876672' first='Camden' last='Pratcher'] - 2024 Defensive Back - Norman North

There are several marquee games taking place on Thursday night and we'll be in Norman as #4 Norman North hosts #7 Jenks in a massive district contest. Senior defensive back [player_tooltip player_id='876672' first='Camden' last='Pratcher'] is having a really strong senior season. We've seen Pratcher mainly on the 7v7 circuit but this will be our first chance to see him with Norman North. Pratcher has already had multiple games where he's had two interceptions this season and he's looking for more this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='363852' first='Carson' last='Cooksey'] - 2024 Quarterback - Blanchard

It's the top game in Class 4A this week as #3 Blanchard hosts #4 Tuttle in a rematch of an instant classic from a year ago. The Lions have been led this season by senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='363852' first='Carson' last='Cooksey'] and an offense that has been one of the better units in Class 4A this season. Cooksey has put up some monster numbers this season as he's thrown for 14 touchdowns and he's also added four touchdowns on the ground. The Lions will be in control of the district with a win.

[player_tooltip player_id='189939' first='Jackson' last='Rhodes'] - 2024 Linebacker - Woodland

Arguably the best game in Class A takes place on Friday when #4 Woodland hosts #9 Pawnee. The Cougars have been one of the top teams in the class since the start of the season and senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='189939' first='Jackson' last='Rhodes'] is a big reason behind that. Rhodes leads the team in tackles and tackles for loss. He came into this season as one of the top linebackers in the state and he's playing like it so far. He also gives the Cougars a power running back in certain situations.

[player_tooltip player_id='1031234' first='Jacob' last='Jones'] - 2024 Quarterback - Checotah

#7 Checotah is playing in one of the top games in Class 3A this week as they host #2 Lincoln Christian. The Wildcats have had one of the best passing attacks in the state, regardless of class so far this season. Senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1031234' first='Jacob' last='Jones'] was the best QB in the state statistically after the first four games. He averaged 300+ yards per game and 18 touchdowns with just one interception during that stretch. The Wildcats could become a serious contender with a win.
