Running back Ali McCoy Ali McCoy 5'9" | RB Sand Springs | 2025 State OK was the breakout star in this Sandite offense last season. We knew they would have a strong running game with Page returning but McCoy gave Sand Springs another weapon on the offensive side of the ball. McCoy would finish his junior season with just over 100 carries and he had over 800 yards and ten touchdowns. Fast forward to this season and now McCoy is the top guy in the backfield. Despite McCoy being a breakout player last fall, Page was still the top back. Now, it’s McCoy’s turn to carry the load of the Sandite running game. We’re looking forward to seeing his production this fall as one of the top running backs in 6A-2.

Sand Springs junior running back Ali McCoy Ali McCoy 5'9" | RB Sand Springs | 2025 State OK has not only earned his playing time but he’s earned it with the Sandites already having one of the better running backs in Class 6A-2. We knew about Page returning at running back for the Sandites but McCoy has been a surprise player for us. We first saw him back in August when the Sandites were at the Jenks scrimmage and mini games. McCoy performed well that day and he’s continued that throughout the fall. McCoy is right there with Page in terms of rushing as the Sandites have firmly established the best two-headed monster at running back in Class 6A-2 this fall. McCoy has put up some monster numbers already despite splitting carries. McCoy was not a player on our radar back in the summer but he’s firmly there at this point. Sand Springs plays in one of the best games this week as they travel to face defending champion Stillwater on Thursday night. That’s an opportunity for McCoy and Sand Springs to make more noise.
