This week on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we’re putting a spotlight on some of the top 2026 prospects in the state. From guys who have been shining since they were freshmen to others who are enjoying breakout seasons this fall, we got it all covered. On Monday, we released our updated 2026 rankings. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down different position groups and overall standouts in the state’s 2026 class so far. In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on the wide receiver position and this group is absolutely loaded. It should be noted, that we are missing some of the top ranked players at the position. Joshua Rushing Joshua Rushing 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR Lawton MacArthur | 2026 State OK and Jaden Johnson Jaden Johnson 6'1" | WR Mustang | 2026 State OK were featured earlier this week in our “Top Newcomers” article while Mason James Mason James 5'11" | 155 lbs | WR Norman North | 2026 State OK and Quincy Shelton Quincy Shelton 6'0" | WR Hugo | 2026 State OK were featured in our “Top Stock Risers” article. Keep it locked in throughout the week for more breakdowns on 2026 prospects. And check back every Monday in October for more prospect ranking updates!
Based on his film at the midseason point of the season, this might be the last time we have Idabel sophomore Mackylan Dixon Mackylan Dixon 5’10” | WR Idabel | 2026 State OK under the wide receiver umbrella. Not only was he making play after play on offense but you sprinkle in a couple pick sixes from the cornerback position and solid production as a return player and you have a very impactful and versatile player. Idabel is not lacking in that department as they have several 2025 and 2026 prospects you need to know about moving forward. For Dixon in particular, the ceiling is incredibly high for him and he’s continuing his momentum from a strong 7v7 season. Dixon and Idabel have our full attention as we get closer to the playoffs.
Hominy standout Blaine Hipp Blaine Hipp 6’5″ | 205 lbs | WR Hominy | 2026 State OK is a name to remember moving forward. Hipp jumped into the rankings back in June and he remains one of the top receivers in the state’s 2026 class. We got a chance this week to see Hipp on film from earlier this season and one of the first plays we watched was him using his 6’5 frame to reach over the top of a defensive back and pull in a touchdown pass. He’s a match-up nightmare in the red zone but in the same game he also lined up in the slot and beat several defenders on a simple skinny post and outran every one for another score. We’re going to get our chance to see Hipp in person next week when they host Woodland in a massive Class A game next week.
Grove standout Isaac Sheffield Isaac Sheffield 6’3″ | WR Grove | 2026 State OK was a new name for us when we started doing our research on the state’s 2026 class. We know that the Ridgerunners lost a special senior class but they had reloaded in some key positions and apparently wide receiver is one of them. Sheffield looks the part physically and when we tossed on the film, he did a good job running routes and beating defenses whether they were in zone or man to man situations. Sheffield has also had an impact on the special teams unit as he’s scored on punt returns this season. We’re interested to see more of Sheffield because about two weeks ago he was somewhat of an unknown but now he’s a player we want to see more of.
Another newcomer to the 2026 rankings is Collinsville’s Ben Daniels Ben Daniels 5’8″ | 160 lbs | WR Collinsville | 2026 State OK at the wide receiver position. And when you look at Collinsville, they have a massive threat in the passing game in Henslick and he towers over everyone else in every receiving category. But Daniels has been the second option and is second on the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns this season. He got his sophomore season off to a great start with a pair of touchdowns and we’re also impressed with one of his better games coming in their toughest game of the season against Bishop Kelley. Daniels is a prospect that we watched a little film of back in the spring but he was unproven at the varsity level. That’s not the case anymore.
