Continue ReadingThe 2023 football season is right around the corner and at the conclusion of spring practices across Oklahoma, it’s a perfect time to update the prospect rankings! We started this week with the state’s 2026 class and went from a Top 25 to a Top 50. If you missed that update, you can check out the list right here! Throughout the week, we’re diving deep into the rankings with prospect breakdowns. We’re discussing why these players are already on our radar and already on the radar for the next level. Keep it locked in throughout the week as we break down more 2026 prospects. And check back each Monday this month for a new ranking update! Next week, we’ll be updating the 2025 class.
In this breakdown, we’re putting a spotlight on the top quarterbacks in this recent ranking update. From top ten overall prospects to a newcomer as well, this position is already showing quite a bit of promise. There are a few quarterbacks who have yet to start at the varsity level but have already earned D1 offers and it looks like they’re just scratching the surface on what they can be. This positional breakdown does not include Milllwood signal caller CJ Turnbull CJ Turnbull 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Millwood | 2026 State OK as he was featured in Monday’s “Top Newcomers” article.
Our first quarterback on this breakdown is Locust Grove signal caller Titan Hix Titan Hix 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB Locust Grove | 2026 State OK and he’s the top-rated quarterback for the second straight ranking update. Hix debuted in the top spot following his freshman season last fall at Hennessey. He’s moved to Locust Grove as his dad took over the head coaching position in eastern Oklahoma. Hix put up some absolutely monster numbers last season both throwing the ball and running last fall. The production Hix had last season was without a doubt the best production from any of the 2026 prospects. The Locust Grove signal caller also came to our camp back in April and ran away with the MVP award for quarterbacks and again looked the part when the pads came on last month at the Rejoice Christian team camp. We’re very excited to see what Hix can do now that he’s at Locust Grove and seeing a slight bump up in competition, going from Class 2A to Class 3A. And we’re very intrigued to see what his production looks like this fall.
Highlights
Choctaw quarterback Landon Gatson Landon Gatson 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB Choctaw | 2026 State OK is the first of two quarterbacks on this breakdown that already have offers from D1 programs without ever starting at the varsity level. Gatson immediately passes the eye test and it’s not hard to figure out why he has received college interest and especially after watching him throw the ball. Gatson really impressed at our camp back in January and then again when we got a chance to watch him with the pads on at team camp in May. With three-year starter Steele Wasel graduating, Gatson might be the assumed starter for this fall but during the team camp, the Yellowjackets did have a rotation going on at the quarterback position. Gatson will have to earn his way on to the field for the Yellowjackets this fall and if he’s able to win the job, we expect some fireworks right from the start. He’s going to have playmakers around him and he can really fire the ball all over the field. The arm talent Gatson is working with is pretty special.
And just like at Choctaw, defending 6A-2 champion Stillwater seems to have a quarterback battle this offseason with one quarterback already having a handful of D1 offers. 2026 signal caller Conner Quintero Conner Quintero 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Oklahoma | 2026 State OK moved to Stillwater from Enid before last fall and saw very limited playing time as a freshman behind two-year starter Gage Gundy. But Quintero also has been on the radar for about a year now as he picked up his first D1 offer around this time last year. And here recently, a few more schools have offered Quintero, including Tulsa and their new staff. Quintero has had a really strong offseason as he performed well at our camp back in January and then in various 7v7 tournaments this offseason. Every time we watch him spin the ball in those settings, it’s easy to see why he has the attention of college coaches already. But there’s still more for the Stillwater signal caller to prove. He has to win the QB1 job and back up all the hype with his performance on Friday nights this fall.
Highlights
Southmoore quarterback Cruz Campbell Cruz Campbell 6’0″ | 180 lbs | QB Tuttle | 2026 State OK is in the same boat as Hix, Webb and Moore on this breakdown as 2026 quarterbacks who got thrown into the fire last season as freshmen and came out on the other side. There is a lot to be excited about with the Southmoore football program. Despite a losing season last fall, there were a lot of growing pains involved and the Sabercats bring back a lot of young and hungry talent. Campbell is one of those prospects that will be leading the Southmoore offense this fall. Campbell is definitely a quarterback prospect that we want to see in person this fall when the pads come on. We got a chance to see him a few different times this offseason at our camps and various 7v7 tournaments. Like Quintero at Stillwater, Campbell would perform incredibly well in that setting. Now we want to see that translate to Friday nights when the bullets start flying for real. Campbell is off to a really strong start already and we’re excited to see his improvement this fall.

Out of all the quarterbacks on this breakdown, Sand Springs 2026 signal caller Easton Webb Easton Webb 6’4″ | 205 lbs | QB Charles Page | 2026 State OK was the first one we watched in person with the pads on. Webb certainly looks the part immediately when you see him in person. He had a rocky first season with the Sandites as he got used to competing at the varsity level. The Sandites should have a pretty strong offense this fall and we anticipate Webb will show steady improvement throughout the fall. Now, the biggest question around Webb moving forward surrounds him as a prospect. It’s incredibly early and it doesn’t matter much right now because there’s a lot of time between now and when Webb graduates. But he is already committed to Oklahoma State for baseball and is considered one of the top baseball prospects in the state’s 2026 class. We could very well see Webb have a good high school football career but once it’s over, it’s all about baseball at the next level.

And our final quarterback on this breakdown is another 2026 prospect that got thrown into the lineup last season. Mannford quarterback Max Moore Max Moore 6’3″ | 200 lbs | ATH Mannford | 2026 State OK got onto the field last fall and never folded. We covered Moore earlier this season when watching his film for one of our “Friday Film Review” breakdowns. In that breakdown, we mentioned how the Mannford freshman really stepped up and never looked like a first year player. He moved his feet well in the pocket and stayed active with his eyes. He would throw the wide receiver open and doesn’t just throw the ball or force it much. When he feels the pocket collapse, he just doesn’t take off and run with the ball. Moore will step up and deliver the ball with good placement. Moore makes good decisions and is even seen making 2 man reads while still getting the ball out of his hand on time. There’s a lot to like already about his game and we’re interested in seeing more from Moore.
