Scout’s Notes: Standout Receivers
The only rising sophomore on today’s list, Neumann had himself a good day at the showcase. What he was specifically able to showcase was his good hands. Anything that Neumann was able to get a finger on he reeled in to his possession. Further, there was something about Neumann’s game that came across as gritty. He is neither the biggest, fastest, nor strongest prospect, but that grit I mentioned led him to be one of the position group’s best competitors.
Perennial playoff team Kingsway actually had a trio of receivers that caught my eye at the Jersey Juice. First up is Benny Liles Benny Liles 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Kingsway | 2024 NJ . There were quite a few positives that Liles demonstrated the other weekend. Firstly, his kids got ups. Time and time again he made nice grabs while high pointing the ball. Additionally, Liles exclusively makes catches with his hands and not his body. To supplement this, I saw that Liles ran very clean routes. Perhaps above all else, Liles was hand-timed running the 40-yard dash in 4.67 seconds.
Lining up opposite Benny Liles Benny Liles 6’0″ | 160 lbs | WR Kingsway | 2024 NJ is his Dragon teammate Aiden Alexander Aiden Alexander 6’0″ | 170 lbs | WR Kingsway | 2024 NJ . What popped about Alexander was the tenacity he fought with to win on inside reps. Even when defender’s did their best to take away the inside route with their body leverage, he muscled through found a way and won the in-breaking route.
The triplet that completes Kingway’s three-headed Dragon is a rising freshman named Joseph Irvine Joseph Irvine 6’4″ | 230 lbs | TE Kingsway | 2026 NJ . Irvine is also a baseball player, but has the size to play tight end as well. On more than one occasion Irvine won the tip drill and came down with less-than-stelar passes. He also hustled and never gave up on his routes.
