This batch of playmakers left an impression at the showcase. Great players in their own right, they were identified as strong performers by the coaching staff working the event. With nearly 300 prospects, I cannot catch everyone’s rep!

Scout’s Notes: Standout Defensive Linemen
Isom is tough, rough, and rugged interior lineman. Aside from possessing the requisite strength to hold down the middle of the defense, he has good hips for an interior d-lineman. During pass rush drills he was able to generate sudden torque that his o-line matchup could not match as he got skinny en route to the QB.
Highlights
Travaglini was another sudden, switchy d-lineman who happens to move his hips well. Whether it was during agility drills, indy, or one-on-one, we saw that Travaglini was able to move fluidly. This caused o-linemen to end up “chasing” him during the competition portion of the event.
Highlights
The coaches in attendance agreed with me and presumably saw the same things I saw when evaluating Barlow. What I saw Barlow do best was how smooth he was able to turn on a dime and bend the a corner. This made him a tough out as he set the edge during competition.

What impressed me about this out-of-state d-lineman was how quick he got off the ball. With the size to play either on the interior or the edge, he can jump the snap and win a matchup within his first step.
