While the high schoolers went at it on Sunday, it was the middle schoolers that took center stage on Saturday. Here’s a look at the 2027 and 2028 prospects that earned recognition from the staff.
Foster earned an invitation to the Under Armour Next Game, to be played in January of 2024. Measuring in at 6-foot-2 and 200-pounds, the future is bright here. Saw him live last summer as a member of the Georgia Future Stars before a tremendous regular season with the Central DeKalb Dream Chasers. Personally still think that with his frame, he could easily end up as an Offensive Tackle when it’s all said and done. Nonetheless a future talent and earned the nod on the Defensive Line with his effort.

Defensive Lineman Bryce Hurst Bryce Hurst 6’2″ | 220 lbs | DL Grayson | 2028 GA was another 2028 prospect to pick up an invitation to the UA Next Game for his performance at the camp. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 220-pounds, he has impressive movement for an athlete at his size and on this level. His agility and quickness for a young big man has been developed in part from also playing lacrosse and basketball, while mixing boxing into his training also. The Grayson High School pipeline shows no signs of drying up any time soon.
The Big Apple didn’t fall too far from the tree here, as Quinn Jacobs Quinn Jacobs 6’2″ | 190 lbs | DL GA , son of former New York Giant Brandon Jacobs, earned an invitation to the UA Next Game. While father Brandon was coaching up Running Backs at the camp, Quinn was impressing with his ability on the defensive line. Quinn is built just like his father and has been a menace during his youth career. He’ll be suiting up for Buford next year as an eighth-grader and then off to the high schools ranks where he’ll be on the same team as his older brother Brayden Jacobs Brayden Jacobs 6’7″ | 325 lbs | OL Buford | 2025 State GA , a 2025 prospect with double digit offers already.

One of only two Offensive Linemen to earn an invitation to the Under Armour Next Game, Fielder continues to be a kid to know. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Fielder has been impressive each time we’ve seen his middle school career. Big, tall and long, he has a great build to work with as a prospect–pretty similar to fellow 2028 prospect Chase Foster II Chase Foster II 6’4″ | 225 lbs | DL GA . Fielder was in familiar surroundings, as the future Carrollton Trojan stood out on his home turf.

You don’t eahe nickname “The General” as a Quarterback if you’re not a legit player–and Cypher is legit. The only Quarterback to earn an invitation to the UA Next Camp in Georgia, I’ve long said he’s going to be a special one. He’s also a future Trojan, like his cousin Kweli Fielder Kweli Fielder 6’4″ | 280 lbs | OL Carrollton | 2028 GA , so he clearly put on for the home town. Much like Buford High School and Grayson High School, Carrollton High School’s pipeline is alive and well. All signs point to Cypher, a 2028 prospect, to be the heir to the throne of 2026 All-Everything Quarterback, Julian Lewis Julian Lewis 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB Carrollton | 2025 GA . Not a bad lineage of signal callers for the Trojans, huh?
The most legitimate two-sport star I’ve seen so far in this 2028 class, Dexter McCleon Jr. Dexter McCleon Jr. 6’3″ | 180 lbs | ATH Buford | 2028 GA earned an invitation to the UA Next Game as a Wide Receiver. He’s listed at 6-foot-2 and 180-pounds and my goodness, he looks like a can’t miss. His father, Dexter Sr., played in the NFL for 10 seasons and won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2000–but was also drafted by the Minnesota Twins in baseball. Dexter Jr. is on the same trajectory, as one of the most elite athletes in the country, in both sports. He’ll be a Buford Wolf.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but a Buford Wolf has been selected for the UA Next Game. I say that in jest, as Keshon Blow Keshon Blow 5’7″ | 155 lbs | RB Buford | 2028 GA also earned a spot in the game. A running back/linebacker type, he’s one to watch on both sides of the ball. Haven’t had live eyes on him since last fall but he is clearly not slowing down at all. Blow was the only Running Back selected on the day.
Pure cornerback Kayden Blackwell Kayden Blackwell DB Cartersville | 2028 GA received his gold ticket for his effort on Saturday. A member of the Cartersville Hurricane’s program, he puts on the same purple and gold that current Jacksonville Jaguars signal caller, Trevor Lawrence once did. Sources said he looked natural at the position and is really starting to develop into a corner that “you don’t really need to worry about him playing on an island because he’s good there.” Blackwell also plays 7v7 for Hustle Inc.
A month after earning the Defensive Back MVP at the Prep Redzone Next camp in Atlanta, Boyd returned to the Peach State and again came home with honors. Hailing from Alabama, Boyd will eventually suit up for the Hoover Buccaneers in high school. However, the 5-foot-7, 145-pound lockdown Corner will be playing in the UA Next Game next January.

Dylan Richardson
Dylan Richardson
Not to be forgotten or outshined, class of 2027 prospect Dylan Richardson earned a selection to the UA Next Game as an Offensive Linemen. To my knowledge, Richardson is a brand new name to us and I look forward to seeing what the two-way lineman is all about. Looks to be in the neighborhood of 6-foot-1, with a solid build and carries his weight well.
What About the 2027’s?
While the 2028’s were the ones with the most to gain in terms of an invite, the class of 2027 was also there and showed out. Social media was buzzing with many of the top eighth-graders in Georgia, Alabama, Florida and other states sharing their experiences. Here’s a look at the 2027s that earned MVP honors, per the UA Next staff.
- It was another weekend and another standout camp for the dude they call Pancake. Christian Hunter Christian Hunter 6'1" | 265 lbs | DL Milton | 2027 State GA has been on an absolute tear this off-season and he shows no signs of showing down. Without question one of the top two-way linemen in the nation for the class of 2027.
- Running Back Darius White Darius White 5'8" | 190 lbs | RB Pace Academy | 2027 GA let the world know what was up when he earned an Arkansas offer this past June, two months before he started eighth-grade. It’s safe to say he hasn’t let up at all. White had an enormous eighth grade year for the Falcons United 13U team, including going viral on social media for some powerful runs.
- Another talented two-way star, Aaron Black Aaron Black 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Grayson | 2027 State GA picked up the Linebacker MVP award at the camp. Also a talented Running Back, this doesn’t surprise me. The 5-foot-10 and 155-pound athlete drew praise on his mobility and ability to transition from full speed into a good tackling position with ease. He’s dialed up for Grayson next year.
- Matching the above mentioned Christian Hunter Christian Hunter 6'1" | 265 lbs | DL Milton | 2027 State GA , Wide Receiver Kevin Hughes Jr. Kevin Hughes Jr. 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Buford | 2028 GA has done nothing but been impressive throughout the early camp season. From our Prep Redzone Next camp, to NextGen a few weeks ago and now the Under Armour Wide Receiver MVP. The kid they call “Rambo” will be drawing first blood at Buford High School.
