is someone I have covered for some time now, before the big attention, I could really tell he was going to be a special player. Last season, I had the chance to catch him live a couple of times and he did not ever disappoint. He is a next level defensive back with great ball skills, size and ability. He is going to have a massive season in 2026 without a doubt.

is another Carrollton standout that I have covered since his middle school days and just as he always is, the impressive showcase he puts on especially in big games and in big moments, Boyd just knows how to rise to the occasion. He makes plays, he plays with great instincts, ball skills and IQ. He of course has tremendous athletic ability and God-given talent, and I believe his best season is yet to come, he’s going to keep stacking great seasons and in 2026, it’ll be his biggest yet, mark these words!

has quickly become one of the most intriguing defensive back prospects in the Class of 2028, especially coming out of one of Georgia’s most competitive high school programs. The 5-foot-11, physical cornerback from Carrollton has already racked up a strong offer list that includes major schools like Georgia, Texas, Florida State, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Memphis, Kennesaw State, and more, showing that both Power Five and Group of Five programs see real potential in him at the next level. As a key part of Carrollton’s stout defense, Boyd has already made his mark on the field, earning First-Team All-Region honors as a sophomore and showing that he can make plays both in coverage and against the run.
What really sets Boyd apart is how he’s responded to early challenges and started turning heads with his athleticism and playmaking ability. After rehabbing an early-career setback, he came back stronger in the offseason, working on his agility, breaks on the ball, and overall physical tools the kind of work ethic that recruiters take seriously during evaluation. He’s also turned recruiting visits into relationship-building opportunities, such as a game-day visit to Tennessee, and continues to draw interest from several Power Five programs as they track his progress. Heading into what many expect to be a breakout season, Boyd looks poised to continue dominating on the field, elevate his game even more, and solidify himself as one of the best defensive backs in his class — a prospect college coaches are increasingly excited about.

A technically sound cornerback who consistently puts himself in a position to make plays, Boyd was a consistent playmaker for the Carrollton Trojan defense all season long. Just a sophomore, Boyd showed this fall that he’s one of the top 2028 defensive back prospects across the state. He plays hard, shows great instincts in coverage, and knows how to tackle. If you didn’t know it, you’d think he’s a seasoned veteran the way he plays. He really shined against strong competition all season long and recently added a new offer from the Florida Gators. Boyd is currently ranked as the No. 2 DB prospect in Georgia for his class.

Boyd is a breakout sophomore for Carrollton and already an early standout in the 2028 class at the position. He is making plays as a tackler, but also making plays on the football and generating takeaways. As he grows and develops, he will only draw more eyes and attention. What really sticks out at this phase is his ability and willingness to lower his shoulder and embrace contact. He holds P4 offers.

A tough, physical cornerback who has no problem lowering his shoulder to deliver a big hit on the ball-carrier, Boyd is one of the top 2028 cornerback prospects in West Georgia with a chance to shine next season as a sophomore. He brings good length, instincts, and will only improve in coverage over time. His talent and potential is easy to see and he earned a big SEC offer this week from the Ole Miss Rebels. He’s one of the top overall 2028 DB prospects in Georgia who should see more SEC offers come his way over time.

is on his way to being a star and in his 2028 class, he’s already one of the top playmakers. At the defensive back position, he is an excellent cover guy and doesn’t mind coming up to make tackles. He’s an all-around DB and is a guy that doesn’t shy away from competition.

A tough, hard-hitting defensive back who doesn’t shy away from contact, Boys may be young, but he’ll bring a physical presence to the mighty Carrollton Trojans defense next fall as a sophomore. He shows strong instincts for his age, reacting quickly against the pass with the ability to wrap up and make a secure tackle on the ball-carrier. He brings some length that should help him in coverage against quality receivers in the region. He’ll be competing against outstanding competition not only in practice, but every Friday night and should be able to hold his own. With a big sophomore season, this promising 5-foot-11 165-pounder should see his recruitment pick down the road.

is a defensive back that’s quickly shown why he should be in any conversation amongst the best. This FBU freshman All American has already received offers from Memphis, Kennesaw State, Georgia Tech and more. His football IQ, technical precision, and elite understanding of coverages make him one of the most dangerous defenders in the secondary. He’s a true student of the game, always a step ahead, diagnosing plays before they develop and putting himself in the perfect position to make an impact.
What makes him special isn’t just his instincts, but his flawless technique. He’s a film junkie who knows his assignments inside and out, allowing him to play with confidence and discipline. Whether it’s man coverage, zone drops, or disguised looks, he knows exactly where to be and when to be there.
Every defense needs a leader in the secondary, and he’s stepping into that role heading into this season. He’s not just playing the game—he’s directing traffic, calling out adjustments, and keeping his unit disciplined. With his knowledge of coverages and his ability to recognize offensive schemes, he’s like having a coach on the field.
His ability to anticipate routes, recognize formations, and disguise coverage makes him an invaluable asset to his team. Quarterbacks think they’ve found an open man, only to realize—too late—that he’s already jumping the route for an interception or a pass breakup.
After putting in work during the offseason, he’s stronger, faster, and even sharper than before. With a full season ahead of him, he’s ready to prove he’s not just a solid defensive back—he’s an elite one.
As his name continues to rise on recruiting boards, one thing is certain: this technician in the secondary is about to put on a clinic. Opposing offenses better be ready—because this DB already knows their next move before they do.

A month after earning the Defensive Back MVP at the Prep Redzone Next camp in Atlanta, Boyd returned to the Peach State and again came home with honors. Hailing from Alabama, Boyd will eventually suit up for the Hoover Buccaneers in high school. However, the 5-foot-7, 145-pound lockdown Corner will be playing in the UA Next Game next January.
