is an outstanding defensive back and is someone who made some impressive things happen in Atlanta at our Winter Prep Redzone Showcase. Blackwell has a twitchy skill set, je stays locked in and I see he’s going to continue developing and getting better this off-season. It will be interesting to see all of his growth this off-season. Blackwell is someone I really feel will have a major impact in the secondary in the 2026 season for the Purple Hurricanes. Check him out this spring, summer and fall!

Blackwell is ranked as one of our highest rated 2028 DB prospects in Georgia as of today. After taking home a coach MVP at our recent showcase, he is continuing to prove himself. For his height, he actually looks pretty long and lean, so I don’t think he’s done growing yet. He is light on his feet, mirrors routes well, and is difficult to separate from. He checks the boxes athletically, so I will be watching his physical growth closely as he heads towards a breakout junior season.

Blackwell is a buzzy player out of Cartersville who we have ranked as one of the best 2028 DBs in Georgia. He is listed at around 5’10, but he is lean and long, which helps him attack and play the ball. Blackwell was just a really consistent player during competition, matching routes well and always remaining around the catch point. Blackwell has turned heads on the offseason camp scene for a while now, and I would watch to see how that translates to his high school career over the next few years.

is a clear talent at the defensive back position. The Cartersville Purple Hurricane has quickness and twitchy qualities when covering wide outs. He stood out at our Prep Redzone Winter Showcase over the weekend at the defensive back spot and showed just why he is a valuable DB. He’s got a huge off-season ahead of him as well as a 2026 football season.

is a talent that I have covered quite a few times and everytime I cover him, he’s proven to have shown development in all areas which make him even better. Blackwell is a threat at the DB position and plays in a class and program where he will thrive alongside other great talents. Blackwell is certainly one of the top players in the 2028 class and I expect him to really stand out this upcoming season when his name and number are called upon. He will not disappoint!

Every season, a handful of defensive backs separate themselves from the pack. This year, Kayden is a name that has quickly started climbing the ranks. Kayden has elite speed, fluid hips, and a knack for making game-changing plays, this defensive back is proving he belongs among the nation’s best.
Quarterbacks hate throwing his way—for good reason. Whether he’s lined up in press-man coverage, sitting back in zone, or flying downhill to break up a pass, he plays with the confidence and physicality.
His long frame allows him to disrupt routes at the line of scrimmage, while his closing speed makes it nearly impossible for wide receivers to create separation. He’s not just a lockdown corner; he’s a playmaker who thrives in forcing turnovers. Coaches rave about his ability to bait quarterbacks into bad decisions, then explode toward the ball for an interception or pass breakup.
One of the most intriguing aspects of his game is his versatility. Some schools see him as a true shutdown corner, capable of eliminating an opponent’s top receiving threat. Others believe he could thrive as a ball-hawking safety, using his range and instincts to patrol the deep secondary.
Wherever he lines up, one thing is certain—he makes an impact. His ability to seamlessly switch between positions gives coaches the freedom to use him in multiple ways, making him an even more valuable asset.

received his gold ticket for his effort on Saturday. A member of the Cartersville Hurricane’s program, he puts on the same purple and gold that current Jacksonville Jaguars signal caller, Trevor Lawrence once did. Sources said he looked natural at the position and is really starting to develop into a corner that “you don’t really need to worry about him playing on an island because he’s good there.” Blackwell also plays 7v7 for Hustle Inc.
