A promising North Georgia defender who showed a lot of promise last year as a freshman, Davenport earned the trust of the Cartersville staff and made sure he got on the field as a freshman for one of the state’s most respected programs. He’s young, but he susre didn’t play like a first-year player in 2025. He shows a natural feel for the linebacker position, strong instincts, and the ability to be physical and make a big tackle. He brings good size at 6-foot-1 215-pounds and was one of the more productive freshmen defenders in the area as he made 50 tackles and recovered two fumbles.

Davenport picked up his first offer from Tulane last week, and with years left of development at a recruiting hotbed, his recruitment should continue to take shape. He has developed beyond his years and has impressive movement skills for his size, position, and age. He is still developing his nuance, but he is strong enough to hold his own and plays with plenty of range. If he continues to get stronger he will be a very dangerous player.

When you’re standing 6 feet tall in a middle school backfield, you automatically peek the interest of spectators. Athens Davenport has a solid frame and game to go with it. This Georgia Elite Classic offensive MVP has great contact balance and finishes runs with a physical burst. He can catch and harnesses deceptive speed which leaves defensive backs with a business decision type mentally when Athens is in space. He runs through arm tackles and his stiff arm has pop to it. This kid has a lot going for him at the moment, not to mention holding the 4X1 record at school, on top of being a Hoop standout.
