Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A max-effort defensive lineman who fires off the ball and plays with good leverage, Hunter is a playmaking defender who saw his recruitment pick up in January after offers from UMass, UConn, East Carolina, Miami (OH), Kennesaw State, among others. The 6-foot-2 285-pounder plays hard and can create havoc in the middle of the trenches. He made an impressive 71 tackles with 8.5 TFLs and four sacks. He was one of the top defensive linemen across the region and all over metro-Atlanta last season. He’s tough to block and his consistent motor, along with his natural talent, should allow him to have a dominant senior season in 2026.

has been a buzzy prospect out of Milton since 8th grade and he impressed again on national TV against Buford. Hunter has all the compensators for being a shorter, stubbier DL prospect. He is explosive off the line, has a strong anchor, but it’s his ability to chase the football around the yard and effortlessly flow horizontally with the offense that sets him apart. Hunter is as active a DL prospect you will find in Georgia, both at the point of attack and as a pursuer.

An imposing presence in the interior of the defensive line or standing up coming off the end. He carries his 6’2 295 well and is quick and agile and is a load for the OL to try and block. Gets off the ball quick and will out power you. He does a good job in pursuit and is a finisher when he gets his hands on you. Played on a back to back State Title team at Milton. Hunter is worth the price of admission to watch today.
Outlook: Next level talent that will be a highly sought after prospect in the 2027 Class.

- 6’1 250 with broad shoulders and a stout lower body.
- Played plenty of meaningful snaps for a 7A state championship winning team.
- An obvious gap stuffer in the middle of the DL. At his peak, his presence alone will be tough to move against the run and should funnel the football out to his teammates.
- Bull rush allows him to dent the pocket and get pressure in the face of the QB. He attacks the ground by firing his feet and maintains leverage while barreling towards the QB.
- Knows when to shed off his block and pursue the football.
- Energetic player that violently gets after the football. Will run all over the field looking for action. The type of player that racks up larger than usual tackling numbers for an IDL.

is an explosive, strong IDL prospect who has been generating recruiting buzz since middle school. Varsity reps only made him better and he is a guy who could start seeing offers as early as this offseason. He is already firmly on the radar.

Potentially the most athletic interior lineman on the squad with a running back background. The footwork is there and he plays with tremendous balance. Christian jumps through gaps with urgency. In addition, he is tall and does very good extending his arms and violently gets off blocks. With another season or two under his belt, he will be a different beast. (PRZ Next Watchlist)

Hunter is a technically sound kid that has an explosive first step. He does a great job of winning the hand fight at the point of attack gaining leverage and then has the ability to beat you in a variety of ways. He is quick enough to just blow by offensive linemen. He is strong enough to bull rush and get to the quarterback. But, he is polished enough that he can demonstrate a variety of moves inside and outside to make him almost unbeatable in a one on one matchup.

Hunter put in a great showing, testing well and winning a few one-on-ones handily with an impressive array of pass rushing moves. He displayed a mature approach to pass rushing and won with technique and quickness. As his body catches up to his mind, he could be a dangerous threat on the interior of the defensive line.

Hunter motor is excellent, as a power rusher he does a good job pushing the pocket vertically. Pushes OL back relentlessly with above-average strength, solid leg drive, and quality motor. Was named MVP of the interior Defensive Linemen. Despite his size and strength, as a speed rusher he is solid. Demonstrating good athleticism, working well laterally, and driving on target. Shows quality athleticism, and decent body control.

An absolutely destructive load on the Offensive Line and Defensive Line, Hunter is one of the best 2027 linemen in the country. He’s a big kid for just entering eighth-grade this school year, standing 6-foot-2 and 265 pounds. He is borderline unblockable, despite playing in one of the best youth leagues in the nation in Georgia. Has a special first step coming of his stance, which allows for a ton of tackles for loss. Possess very good hands and is continuing to get better by training with Marcus Howard, one of the top trainers in Atlanta.
