Once known as one of the more underrated linebackers across the state, Battaglia is seeing some much-deserved offers come his way recently from UNLV, UMass, East Carolina, Miami (OH), Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, among others. The speedy, sure-tackling linebacker for the mighty Milton Eagles was a consistent defender all season long and led a very stout defense as a junior. The 6-foot-2 210-pound max-effort linebacker made an impressive 121 tackles last season with nine TFLs, two sacks and two forced fumbles. Look for Battaglia to be even better as a senior in 2026. He’s currently ranked as the No. 11 LB prospect in Georgia for the 2027 class.

Underrated player who I am expecting to garner some recruiting attention this offseason, or at least he should. He is a strong, stout, downhill player who can pop at contact. Well-rounded player with the pursuit speed to chase the ball sideline to sideline. He plays hard, love everything this kid is about. Milton always seems to have an underrated, unsung hero at LB, and that’s exactly what Battaglia is.

A quick-reacting, hard-hitting, max-effort linebacker who shined all season long for one of the state’s best teams, Battaglia was a tackling machine for the Milton Eagles in 2025. One of the region’s top defenders and one of Fulton County’s best linebackers in the 2027 class, the productive junior made over 120 tackles this past season with one INT, 14 QB pressures, 8.5 TFLs, two sacks, and two forced fumbles. He plays against quality competition on a weekly basis and still made a big impact all year long. He has easy D1-caliber talent with a 6-foot-2 210-pound frame. His recruitment should really pick up in 2026, and he earned a new offer over the weekend from Old Dominion.

The 6’0 205 LB has made contributions this season as a Sophomore on the #3 ranked team in the Nation. He has 27 TT with a TFL through the 8-0 start for the Eagles.
Very well known in the recruiting circles. Was a 2x BSC All American and was highly touted entering high school. Physical kid with a great nose for the football and high football IQ. He recorded a game high 8 TT in a 47-0 win over Chattahoochee.
He is already picking up interest from ACC and SEC programs and with his best football in front of him.

forced me to run the tape back a few times during this game as well. Battaglia, another part of that tough Milton team from this past year, had a good day with 3.5 tackles. He’s an active player that spends time at Outside Linebacker but could end up as a Strong Safety type depending on how he grows. One of the main things that stood out to me was his willingness to attack the ball carrier, but he did it under control. On several occasions he was able to diagnose the play quickly and fly to the ball all while breaking down and making sure tackles. Another thing that stood out, that won’t show up in a stat sheet was him helping to flatten the edge. As he came up to make a play against an outside run he kept square to the line of scrimmage, keeping an outside shoulder free to help with containment. He may, or may not have made the tackle, but sometimes forcing a the ball carrier back into the mess of the line is just as good.
