Continue ReadingConsider the Armstrong program lucky or blessed. Armstrong will more than likely go from one of the best PA quarterbacks I’ve evaluated in the last 3-5 years, the all-time leading passer in Armstrong County, Cadin Olsen Cadin Olsen 6’5″ | 225 lbs | QB Armstrong | 2023 State PA , to a young talent that has every chance to be just as special. That being Colt Sprankle Colt Sprankle 6’0″ | 155 lbs | QB Armstrong | 2026 State PA . Sprankle will obviously be waiting for his shot to play varsity football, yet the young man is already impressing in JV action so far. Last weekend saw Sprankle throw for just under 240 yards and three touchdowns. What’s even more impressive, Sprankle is locating and hitting his vertical routes effectively. Sprankle is moving too, either for a new launch point or for yards with his legs. Pumped to see more.
Aiden Zilker Aiden Zilker 6’5″ | 280 lbs | OL North Schuylkill | 2026 State PA is beginning to show why we placed him so high on our initial pre-season rankings. Really solid week three tape out of a freshman starting at right tackle. He’s moving and locating his assignments well. Wait until this kid adjusts to the speed of the game, he’ll be doing much less thinking and a lot more mauling in no time. Happy to see him continuing to progress in the right direction. These early reps are invaluable.

Tristyn Tavares Tristyn Tavares 5’11” | 175 lbs | QB Norwin | 2026 State PA has a ways to go until he reaches his full potential at quarterback, we can say this about most freshman quarterbacks. The Norwin passer has had some bright moments early on that are at least worth a mention. Don’t be fooled by this kid’s size, he can launch balls 50+ yards if he needs to, his tape against Penn Hills proved it. He can also locate and throw accurate balls in the red zone if he can throw from a clean pocket. This young man will be in our plans to be ranked at a future time, hoping he continues to develop.

This counts as the third time this freshman back has been mentioned on this site. He’s building real, deserved hype. His three-game is on par with many senior backs in the state if I’m being quite honest. Balance and instincts beyond his years, Sheffey displays an all-around game that blends evasiveness, vision, and toughness well. I can’t help but think what the future for this young man could be if he bulks up this coming offseason. Expect Sheffey to attract attention from Power Five schools every week. Momentum is building.

Exeter Township freshman Jayden Ware Jayden Ware 6’0″ | 145 lbs | ATH Exeter Township | 2026 PA has caught my eye. To my account, he’s playing JV football but looking good at both wideout and DB. He’s put some impressive catches and RAC ability on tape so far. We have to see a lot more before a rank can come, yet I still am excited to see what this young man’s ceiling might be. I’ll have my eye on him for the remainder of his HS career.

David Spinelli David Spinelli ATH Archbishop Ryan | 2026 State PA looks to be a player in the Archbishop Ryan offense early on in his career. His hands, size, and change of direction ability should be suitable for him to eat in the short to intermediate areas of the field. He got reps against Father Judge this past weekend, a game I wanted to attend. I’m not entirely positive whether or not he got reps solely because of the score, either way, I liked what I saw from a young man I will be seeing this weekend against Conwell-Egan.
