We will be taking a look at some the top performers at the event divided by class year, positions and home state, and listed alphabetically. For more Combine coverage, please check out the links at the bottom of the page.
Payton Brown Payton Brown 6'1" | 215 lbs | LB Hillsboro | 2024 State MO , Hillsboro
Brown, who measured in at 6 foot and 203 pounds, had a strong all-around day. He recorded a 40-yard dash time of 4.79 seconds, a pro-agility time of 4.4 seconds, a powerball toss of 38 feet 8 inches, a broad jump of 9 feet 4 inches and a vertical leap of 27 1/2 inches.
A linebacker-running back for the Hawks, Brown recorded 30 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and two sacks as a sophomore. He also rushed for 343 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 11.4 yards per carry.
Kellen Lindstrom Kellen Lindstrom 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL Glendale | 2024 State MO , Glendale
Lindstrom, who is also a baseball player, has an ideal edge rusher’s frame at 6-5 and 223 pounds. We included him in our story on defensive linemen, but we could see him ending up as an outside linebacker at the next level so we are including him here.
The two-sport standout had a good all-around day, recording a 4.56 pro-agility time, a broad jump of 9 feet, a 5.13 40, a powerball toss of 34-5 and a vertical leap of 25 inches.
Lindstrom has already been a productive player on the varsity level and continues to get better and better. He recorded 90 tackles and two sacks as a sophomore after a freshman campaign where he reportedly started every game and recorded 68 tackles.
Caleb Redd Caleb Redd 6'3" | 200 lbs | DL De Smet | 2024 State MO , De Smet
We included Redd, who measured in at 6-3 and 202 pounds, in our story on the standout defensive linemen, which is the position he played last season for the Spartans, but we are also including him here also because he may project better as an outside linebacker.
Redd recorded 45 tackles, a team-high six sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception as a sophomore.
Redd showed off his speed and athleticism at the Elite Combine. He ran the 40 in 4.78 seconds, recorded a pro-agility time of 4.5, a broad jump of 8-10 and a vertical leap of 30 inches.
Redd needs to get stronger and add weight to his lanky frame, but he’s a disruptive defensive player who has already had success at the varsity level for a strong program that plays a difficult schedule. As he continues to get bigger and stronger, he’ll be a problem for opposing offensive tackles.
Isaiah Rubio Isaiah Rubio 6'2" | 255 lbs | DL Lutheran-St. Charles | 2024 State MO , Lutheran St. Charles
Rubio, who measured in at 6-1 1/2 and 218 pounds, was included in our story on defensive linemen, but like Lindstrom and Redd we are also including him here because he could end up as an outside linebacker.
Rubio had a nice all-around day at the Combine. He ran the 40 in 4.79 seconds, recorded a 4.82 pro-agility time, threw the powerball 34-2, broad jumped 7-6 and had a vertical leap of 24 2/3 inches.
The Lutheran St. Charles defensive end, who was a key player during the Cougars’ state championship run, recorded 84 tackles (third on team), a team-high seven sacks and two fumble recoveries during his sophomore season. As a freshman, he recorded 27 tackles in four games on the varsity level.
Ethan Venable Ethan Venable 6'1" | 215 lbs | ATH Oakville | 2024 State MO , Oakville
Venable, who measured in at 6-1 1/4 and 215 pounds, listed himself as an athlete at the Combine, which is what Prep Redzone also lists him as, but we want to include him here (along with some of his other positions) because he may project best at outside linebacker.
He recorded a pro-agility time of 4.15 seconds and a 40 time of 4.86. He also threw the powerball 35 feet and had a vertical leap of 26 inches.
Venable, a multi-sport athlete who also wrestles and plays rugby, had a good sophomore season for the Tigers. He recorded a team-high 847 total yards (766 rushing, 81 receiving) and five touchdowns on offense and recorded 25 tackles and one sack on defense.
