Continue ReadingThe Elite Football Combine is one of the top events in Missouri every year and this year’s event, held on March 12 at the Lou Fusz indoor facility in Earth City, did not disappoint.
We will be taking a look at some the top performers at the event divided by class year, positions and home state, and listed alphabetically. For more Combine coverage, please check out the links at the bottom of the page.
Quinn Brown Quinn Brown 6'4" | 280 lbs | OL Holt | 2024 State MO , Holt
A two-year starter for a high-powered Holt offense, Brown measured in at 6-2 1/2 and 239 pounds. He recorded a 4.78 pro-agility, a broad jump of 7 feet 10 inches, a powerball toss of 31 feet 8 inches, a vertical leap of 20 inches and ran the 40 in 5.5 seconds.
Talan Chandler Talan Chandler 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Nevada | 2024 State MO , Lutheran St. Charles
Chandler is an impressive prospect who earned first-team All-State honors as a sophomore left tackle after helping the Cougars capture a state championship. He plays with physicality and is already training for the transition from playing tackle for his high school to playing inside at guard or center in college.
After measuring in at 6-3 1/2 and 290 pounds, Chandler recorded a powerball toss of 40-5, a pro-agility of 4.72, a broad jump of 8-5, a 5.5 40 and a vertical leap of 23 inches.
Tionne Gray Tionne Gray 6'5" | 305 lbs | DL Hazelwood Central | 2024 State MO , Cardinal Ritter
Gray, who measured in at 6-5 and 275 pounds, listed himself as a tight end and we wrote about him in our write-up of that position, but with his size and skill set we wanted to also include him here because he may end up being a prospect as an offensive (or even a defensive) lineman.
Gray played his sophomore season at Carnahan but is now at Cardinal Ritter. At Carnahan, he caught three passes for 29 yards and recorded 55 tackles and five sacks as a defensive lineman.
He ran a 5.1 40-yard dash, a 5.19 pro-agility, a powerball toss of 36-6, a broad jump of 8 feet and a vertical leap of 21 inches, numbers that exceed what many of the top offensive linemen posted at the Combine.
Garrett Jackson Garrett Jackson 6'6" | 330 lbs | OL Lafayette | 2024 State MO , Lafayette
A big interior lineman, Jackson measured in at 6-4 and 286 pounds. He recorded a pro-agility time of 5.43 seconds, a powerball toss of 31-8, a broad jump of 7-4 and a vertical leap of 18.
Steven Jamison Steven Jamison 6'4" | 275 lbs | OL St. Mary's | 2024 IL , St. Mary’s
Jamison measured in at 6-3 1/2 and 275 pounds. He recorded a pro-agility time of 5.31, a powerball toss of 32-6, a broad jump of 7-2 and a vertical leap of 21 inches.
Jamison, who is also a wrestler, has a good frame that carries his weight well. He doesn’t look like he’s 275 pounds and he looks more like an offensive tackle (or a defensive end) than an offensive guard. He will be an interesting player to watch going forward.
Kaiden Johns Kaiden Johns 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Troy | 2024 State MO , Troy Buchanan
Measuring in at 6-2 1/4 and 287 pounds, Johns recorded a 5.34 pro-agility, a powerball toss of 29-8, a broad jump of 7 feet and a vertical leap of 24 inches.
Johns is a two-way lineman as well as a track and field athlete. Troy Buchanan should once again be one of the better teams in the state this fall, so Johns will get plenty of opportunity to show what he can do.
Brandon Mason Brandon Mason 6'6" | 245 lbs | OL Hazelwood Central | 2024 State MO , Hazelwood Central
A developing prospect to watch the next few years as he fills out, Mason measured in at 6-6 and 237 pounds and recorded 5.28 pro-agility, 36-10 powerball toss, 7-10 broad jump and 22-inch vertical leap.
He also had a teammate/classmate at the Combine to keep an eye on in Jason T. Davis Jason T. Davis 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Hazelwood Central | 2024 State MO , a 6-3 1/4 and 290-pound offensive lineman.
Ryan Mitchell Ryan Mitchell 6'3" | 310 lbs | OL Marquette | 2024 State MO , Marquette
A starting left tackle as a sophomore for one of the St. Louis area’s top teams, Mitchell measured in at 6-1 1/2 and 312 pounds. He recorded a 5.03 pro-agility, a powerball toss of 31-8, a broad jump off 7-3 and a vertical leap of 19 inches.
Mitchell, who also plays basketball, will have to shift inside to guard or center in college, but has the size, strength and feet to make a successful transition.
Bryce Parson Bryce Parson 6'3" | 280 lbs | OL CBC | 2024 State MO , CBC
Parson is a 6-2 1/4 and 296-pounder who has been a two-year starter at left tackle for the Cadets, who won the state championship last fall, but will have to move inside to guard at the next level.
At the Combine, Parson recorded a pro-agility time of 5.41 seconds and a powerball toss of 35-6 to go along with a broad jump of 6-9 and a vertical of 19 inches. A first-team all-conference and second-team all-state honoree as a sophomore, the battle-tested Parson will end up as a four-year starter for one of the top programs in the state.
Logan Scrivner Logan Scrivner 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Francis Howell | 2024 State MO , Francis Howell
Scrivner, who measured in at 6-2 1/2 and 267 pounds, played left guard for the Vikings during his sophomore campaign. He recorded a 4.75 pro-agility and a powerball toss of 40 feet to go along with a 5.39 40, a broad jump of 8-2 and a vertical leap of 25.
Drew Swingle Drew Swingle 6'4" | 270 lbs | OL Eureka | 2024 State MO , Eureka
Swingle, who played both left and right tackle for the Wildcats during his sophomore season, measured in at 6-4 and 270 pounds. He recorded a 4.84 pro-agility, 38-1 powerball toss, a broad jump of 7-10 and a vertical leap of 20 1/2 inches.
Swingle is definitely a player to watch with his size and skill set. Eureka does a good job running the football and Swingle is one of the players up front who paves the way.
