Mustang senior safety Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6'1" | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK was one of the hardest hitting players that we saw in person and on film during the 2023 football season. Warren had an injury-plagued 2022 season and came back strong in 2023. Unfortunately, Warren just had terrible luck when it came to injuries and his senior season was cut short. In the second half of the regular season, Warren came down with an interception but dislocated his ankle and his senior year came to an abrupt end. But when we look at the secondary prospects in the state’s 2024 class. Warren has consistently been one of the top players to watch and he backed up the hype with a stellar senior season.

The only prospect on this breakdown that plays safety the majority of the time is Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6'1" | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK at Mustang. Unfortunately for Warren, he dislocated his ankle after coming down with an interception a few weeks ago. The Broncos are dealing with a ton of injuries right now and Warren is one of them. The injury completely derailed a senior season that was outstanding for Warren. He was one of the team’s leading tacklers and that’s one thing that really stood out to us when we watched Warren on film. This kid absolutely lays the wood when he hits an opposing ball carrier. Warren is one of the hardest hitters we’ve seen over the last month and he has to be one of the hardest hitters in the 2024 class. Warren is going to be a steal for whatever program lands him. Mustang’s future is bright but Warren is part of a solid senior class.

Mustang senior Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6'1" | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK returned this season at the safety position and he is a defensive back prospect in the state’s 2024 class that has a very high upside. Last season, we started to buy into Warren as a next level talent at safety but he dealt with nagging injuries throughout the season. This season, Warren has made up for that lost time and has been an absolute impact player for Mustang on the defensive side of the ball. Similar to Meadows, we’ve had a chance to watch Warren on film so far this season and we’re very impressed with his tackling ability. Coming up this week, Mustang is playing a Union offense that is talented but will have a freshman at quarterback. Warren and the Broncos will look to force some mistakes early.

Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6'1" | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK was impressive in the broad jump. He had the best jumps out of any of the defensive backs. His first attempt was way beyond anyone else’s at his position, being 10’3″. His second attempt was almost just as impressive, being 10’2″. It is remarkable seeing a 6’0 defensive back with that kind of vertical in high school. It is something that can play a big impact on the field for him moving forwards.

We mentioned the wide receivers outnumbering the defensive backs by quite a bit right? Everyone wanted to play offense on Sunday and there were only a handful of prospects that were just playing defensive back throughout the camp. Mustang 2024 defensive back Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6'1" | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK was a guy we were very excited to see in our camp setting on Sunday. Warren immediately stood out as one of the more physically impressive athletes among the defensive back group. He stood out by just looking the part right from the jump and then we started the testing portion and Warren continued to impress. He was one of the few athletes at the entire camp that would broad jump over the 10-foot mark and he did it on both jumps. There’s no doubt that Warren has some tools to be one of the better athletes in Oklahoma’s 2024 class. Warren got our attention last fall and we’re excited about the potential he has moving forward this season. Mustang’s secondary loses one of the best players in the state with Jacobe Johnson Jacobe Johnson 6'4" | DB Mustang | 2023 State OK but they do bring back enough guys, including Warren, to be very strong.

Our final defensive back on this breakdown is the lone newcomer of the five listed. Mustang defensive back Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6'1" | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK is a prospect on the rise and there’s a lot of belief that the Broncos as a program is on the rise in a big way. Warren is a big, physical DB that should give the Broncos a lot of production over the next season and a half. This year, Mustang is a dark horse in the 6A-1 state championship picture and they’re led by an explosive offense. But a lot of the names on that side of the ball will be gone next year and Warren will be one of the top returning players for the Broncos. He was dealing with an injury earlier this year but there is some serious talent in the Mustang secondary that should just get better and better moving forward and we have our eye on Warren as one.

One of the top 2024 prospects for the Broncos is safety Zachery Warren Zachery Warren 6'1" | DB Mustang | 2024 State OK , who began starting for Mustang halfway through last season and has been one of the top defensive standouts for the Broncos this fall. Warren is a long and physical athlete that gets from point A to point B in a hurry. He’s a downhill player who plays with a lot of physicality and is excellent in run support. He’s also been a tackling machine for Mustang. The Broncos have a few standouts within their secondary and Warren is one of the emerging stars on that defense. He’s a 2024 name to remember moving forward.
