When talking the Wood rushing attack, there’s one clear name to know. That name being Yasin Lowry Yasin Lowry 6'0" | 215 lbs | RB Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA . Lowry isn’t a new name on PRZ, he isn’t a new name to me either. He’s a former PRZ camp attendee and has been on our radar for some time, you can tell via his Division Two ranking/grade. I am happy we raised his rank in the offseason, yet seeing what he’s done through five games this year has me thinking he might need to see another boost on our ranks this post-season.
In five games, Lowry has toted the rock more than 20 times four times out of five possible opportunities. Lowry carried the rock 17 times in the lone outlier. 660+ rushing yards in five games, seven touchdowns to his name. Penalties did Wood in against Neumann. Wood missed out on opportunities to close out the football game, a game spear-headed by the Wood defense, along with an incredible performance put forth by Lowry. Incredible lower body strength and balance, Lowry was witnessed high-stepping out of tacklers draped around his ankles. Lowry was witnessed barreling through defenders in the second level. Lowry proved he could produce between the tackles or via bounce toward the sideline. This 230-yard performance all against premier defenders deployed by Neumman. The young man’s stock is soaring, happy to see his hard work bare fruit.

What an opening week for Wood’s Yasin Lowry Yasin Lowry 6'0" | 215 lbs | RB Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA . Recently spoke about how little I’d be surprised if this kid popped off and caught people off guard. 16 carries, 123 yards. The stat line pops, especially if you tack on two scores on the ground. Two scores came from inside the 20, yet Lowry still ripped off a 60+ yard run after Wood was backed into their own endzone. Lowry showing utilization no matter where the team lines up on the field. Likely the lead back moving forward. His prowess on offense was fun to watch, his reps at backer are what really intrigues me. Two to three TFLs on tape, fantastic R&R to get out in front of gaps intended to be hit by the BC. Thick build, plenty of drive behind his legs and hips. Great tackling form, will likely be a starter here moving forward as well.

Yasin Lowry Yasin Lowry 6'0" | 215 lbs | RB Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA , a 2025 prospect who doesn’t have any tape on Hudl, is ready to show the PCL what he’s made of. He’s the third linebacker on this list, showing off the potential the backer group has at Wood. We know how much talent has left the building, Wood is going to need unproven prospects like Yasin Lowry Yasin Lowry 6'0" | 215 lbs | RB Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA to step up to whatever role coaches place in front of him. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing Lowry work a bit at our camps. It was surprising seeing a kid without much tape to his name move as well as Lowry did during Indi’s and one-on-ones. The young man is cut up too. This is a name to watch in the PCL.

This young man’s play at linebacker reminds me of some old school hard hitters such as Jack Tatum and Ray Lewis, yeah he is that physical. Lowry as I mentioned before had a great day and this first team nod was well deserved. Here is what I wrote about him last week “Lowry is a stud and there is a good chance he may be a top 100 in Pennsylvania come next year no joke. Possessing great speed and power, you could see that on full display this past weekend from him. Lowry is another 2025 prospect who made a name for himself, particularly during the 1 on 1 portion. A stout athlete playing for Archbishop Wood, Lowry will be sure to have a major impact defensively this fall. Getting his name recognized in the meantime is the next step and his performance Saturday only helped him.” As you can see my stance hasn’t changed, expect to hear his name a lot come this fall.

Lot of potential I see in Lowry and with his speed and range, he should put on a show this coming weekend. The Archbishop Wood linebacker can be a menace for opposing offenses, his read and react motions are on point as well. Lowry is part of the 2025 class and is coming along for what should be an impactful junior year campaign.

We need more tape on Lowry to get a better idea of where he is in his development but what we’ve seen so far out of him, we do like.
His 6-foot-0, 200+ frame is a good start for the linebacker and he shows decent athleticism that allows him to play sideline to sideline as well. Good fundamentals help make up for any physical traits in which he lacks.
