Archbishop Wood was once loaded to the brim with ranked prospects. The Preseason Primers used to be 20+ players deep.

now stands as the lone ranked prospect at the program, albeit a great sophomore lineman. The sole reason Baldwin Jr. dropped on our ranks has nothing to do with the kid’s tape or production. Jason Baldwin is still one of the better trench players in the PCL, period. Recruiting has to be taken into account when we rank. All of the noise aside, Archbishop Wood is going to have a dog stationed on both sides of the ball. A prominent IOL/IDL always makes everyone else’s lives easier. Whoever totes the rock at back, whoever plays QB, they’ll be grateful for Baldwin’s presence inside.

Jason Baldwin has hit the diamond this off-season, the top ten linemen out of Archbishop Wood. Love that the young man is staying active away from football, developing a secondary skill set is always something scouts like myself hold valuable. I know Baldwin plays multiple positions for Wood baseball, both first-base and pitching. The interior lineman looks to hold onto his top-ten rank this off-season. Football might’ve taken a small drop on the priority ladder.

An up-and-coming name to know in the class of 2025, Baldwin Jr has some promising traits and has flashed quite a few times on the field already.
Baldwin possess quality size at 6-foot-0 and 235-pounds, playing both offensive guard and defensive tackle for the Vikings. He has quick feet and shows good upper body strength as well, allowing him to hold his own on the offensive line while allowing him to fight his way into opposing backfields from the defensive line.

Props to both offensive and defensive lines for Archbishop Wood. The Roman defensive front had its way in the first half, yet when Wilson entered the game, life was seemingly breathed into these lines.

looked great on both sides of the ball, elite hand placement, showing off his smarts as a trench player. I’d trust this young man to play almost everywhere along either line. Evans was able to clog holes defensively even with elite DL

This might have been one of the best outings I’ve seen out of Jason Baldwin. It’s tough to watch guard play from the field, yet nearly every time I keyed in on Baldwin from his guard spot, he was standing a defender up or driving them off the ball. Hardly any panic in his play, his footwork development shows. Baldwin did most of his work against IDL, happy to see him work hard to keep up with this Roman defense.
This marked the first time I got to see highly-touted recruit

in person. The pressure couldn’t be higher, this kid was ready for it all. With Lyons, Montgomery and Patterson lined up across the Heywood for the duration of the match, with the Penn State staff looking on, Heywood was up for it. It’s always a bit jarring seeing someone this big move the way he does. Franklin and Trautwein had to be drooling seeing Heywood move the way he did in this one. The junior is still raw on both sides of the ball. Yet when everything clicks, and he stops thinking instead of playing, he’s easily one of the best linemen his class has to offer. The defensive reps are a plus, watching him get a hold of players off the edge is a sight to see, considering he’s got a nice blend of power and athleticism. Heywood might not see a more formidable defensive front, here’s to hoping he learned a thing or two.

The Archbishop Wood standout is a rising star and a two-sport athlete, also playing baseball for the Vikings. Still has quite a bit of development physically but his technique is sound and the foundation is there for him to turn into a top-notch offensive lineman. As long as he continues to grow, Baldwin has a good chance to be a Power Five or high Group of Five prospect.
