His ability to throw the ball consistently was excellent. He looks like a prototypical quarterback prospect with the way he throws the ball. He has a good arm and delivers an excellent ball to his receivers. Hamilton was a top performer at the showcase, and I came away super impressed with his potential.

You see the potential in him as a quarterback, as he is ranked highly in the 2029 class. His mechanics and footwork are excellent. He throws an accurate and good ball. The question I have for him is how high is his ceiling as a quarterback prospect? He projects as someone who could blow up and have a high ceiling. I am excited to see him throw at the showcase and to see his potential.

Ranking ramification post camp performance: Nothing about the event suggested regression, keeping Devon Hamilton Devon Hamilton 6'0" | 170 lbs | QB Archbishop Wood | 2029 State PA safely in place. Really pleased with his size and testing numbers post-event. A freshman with solid H/W and solid 40/shuttle times. Hamilton flashed a few pretty reps, a few of those I’ll put below. All of this being said, I’m not sure Hamilton’s rank will move either up or down, considering he’s already ranked well among his 2029 peers.

Playing on the Junior Varsity level this year for Archbishop Wood, you see that talent from Hamilton. He has a strong arm, and he shows it off on deep balls. His ability to put the perfect amount of touch on the ball is excellent. He also shows a strong arm when he needs to fit it in between defenders and needs to put some juice on the ball. Hamilton prefers to stay in the pocket, but if the play breaks down, he has no problem scrambling to find his open receivers. Hamilton has the skills to be an excellent player, and when he gets a chance to start, he should shine.

Hamilton was one of the most impressive quarterbacks I observed as a processor. Being a year younger than most of his competition, he excelled at finding his receivers open after his first two reads. He possesses solid ball velocity and effectively utilizes the thirds of the field. He demonstrates good awareness of when to loft passes or fit them into tight coverage. He already has good size for his age and position, and I could see him becoming a promising quarterback prospect for the state of Pennsylvania.
