Continue ReadingArchbishop Wood was once loaded to the brim with ranked prospects. The Preseason Primers used to be 20+ players deep. Jason Baldwin Jr. Jason Baldwin Jr. 6’0″ | 250 lbs | OL Arcbishop Wood | 2025 State PA now stands as the lone ranked prospect at the program, albeit a great sophomore lineman. The sole reason Baldwin Jr. dropped on our ranks has nothing to do with the kid’s tape or production. Jason Baldwin is still one of the better trench players in the PCL, period. Recruiting has to be taken into account when we rank. All of the noise aside, Archbishop Wood is going to have a dog stationed on both sides of the ball. A prominent IOL/IDL always makes everyone else’s lives easier. Whoever totes the rock at back, whoever plays QB, they’ll be grateful for Baldwin’s presence inside.
Highlights
Yasin Lowry Yasin Lowry 6’0″ | 215 lbs | ATH Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA , a 2025 prospect who doesn’t have any tape on Hudl, is ready to show the PCL what he’s made of. He’s the third linebacker on this list, showing off the potential the backer group has at Wood. We know how much talent has left the building, Wood is going to need unproven prospects like Yasin Lowry Yasin Lowry 6’0″ | 215 lbs | ATH Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA to step up to whatever role coaches place in front of him. We’ve had the pleasure of seeing Lowry work a bit at our camps. It was surprising seeing a kid without much tape to his name move as well as Lowry did during Indi’s and one-on-ones. The young man is cut up too. This is a name to watch in the PCL.
Here’s a football player Wood can win with. Reps at fullback where he can use his mobile thick build to lead block for backs. Plenty of MLB reps alongside Owen Gallagher Owen Gallagher ATH State PA , with Nakai Robinson Nakai Robinson 6’1″ | 230 lbs | RB Archbishop Wood | 2025 PA presenting plenty of instincts and energy on the turf. You’ll see Robinson take some handoffs out of the gun formation too, you can trust Robinson to pick a hole, put his head down, and get the tough 3-5 yards. Wood will be able to deploy Nakai in numerous alignments. Good football player who will likely see a ranking after this Fall.

I don’t know much about the young man, considering the exodus of prominent prospects out of Archbishop Wood, I’d imagine Joseph Johnson Joseph Johnson 6’0″ | 205 lbs | DL Archbishop Wood | 2025 State PA will see some kind of role this coming Fall. I’ll be at some ABW games, so I’ll be interested to see Johnson and if he’s grown as a prospect. Very limited reps on Hudl, not much from last year either. We’ll see if he takes the field this Fall.
First two reps on tape show off some playmaking ability out of the unassuming Joe Scarpello Joe Scarpello 5’10” | 170 lbs | ATH Archbishop Wood | 2024 State PA . Will likely play both ways at outside lane corner and serve as a pass-catching option on offense. Like his reps at DB. Not afraid to clean up run plays that bounce outside the tackle. Solid containment. Has an average DB frame but can tackle pretty well. Is seen coming down with some one-on-one open-field tackles. Plays well with cushion. Is clearly a smart football player, where he might lack in athleticism he makes up for in smarts. Being in the right place at the right time is valuable from a coaching perspective. Expect Scarpello to come away with low-percentage catches a couple of times a year.
Owen Gallagher Owen Gallagher ATH State PA
Owen Gallagher Owen Gallagher ATH State PA
A new name to the database, one that I’m admittedly unfamiliar with. Owen Gallagher Owen Gallagher ATH State PA , a 3-minute tape up on Hudl, showcasing his prowess at linebacker for the Vikings. Gallagher shows off quality reps at OLB, yet the majority of his tape displays what he can do to stop the run from his inside linebacker spot. The young man has enough reps seeking out the ball carrier to place him on our ranks, albeit low most likely. With the Vikings losing a ton of talent, expect to see Owen Gallagher Owen Gallagher ATH State PA ‘s name a ton on the defensive stat sheet. Can’t tell from tape how he plays the pass, yet rely on the kid to sniff out outside zone runs consistently.
