As we have stated numerous times before, the showcase was very competitive and entertaining with many kids making their names heard. The First Defense was selected by all of the scouts on hand, believe me, with how they all performed this was not an easy task.
Defensive Line:
One of my favorite players all day, Blidi has a strong argument to be named the overall Camp MVP, he was that impressive! Whether it was terrorizing the offensive lineman on each 1 o 1 encounter or shutting down the running backs this kid was an animal. I agree 100 percent with my colleague Dylan Callaghan Croley’s assessment of him “Blidi, I’ve talked about already in the past week, you can read more about him by clicking on his name above and heading to his profile. That being said, Blidi has 100% in my mind worked his way into a legitimate FBS prospect and could be a walk-on at a high-level Power Five program in my opinion. Quality size but and a great athlete. Williams did not lose a rep in the 1 on 1 battles and his relentless motor that we have seen on film was present. One of the top defensive lineman in the state, good luck having to block this dude.

Biery made his presence known in the testing and the one on one drills. A fierce competitor, Biery’s combination of size, strength and speed made him a matchup nightmare.

Christian Bryant

As we have discussed Milton Hershey was well represented at the PA Showcase and Bryant was another standout. This class of 2025 star is sure to move up in the rankings with his outing.
Linebackers:
The MVP of the Linebackers did not disappoint as he had himself an excellent afternoon. Pfautz had all of the coaches on hand buzzing with his performance in the 1 on 1 drills as both a linebacker and edge rusher, this kid was a stud! With his GPA (4.0), work ethic and playmaking ability, it is no surprise to see FCS schools starting to pine for his services. He is the type of kid you can build your team around and he will not disappoint. Just needs an opportunity and with his showing at our showcase, I have a good feeling offers are coming soon.

This young man’s play at linebacker reminds me of some old school hard hitters such as Jack Tatum and Ray Lewis, yeah he is that physical. Lowry as I mentioned before had a great day and this first team nod was well deserved. Here is what I wrote about him last week “Lowry is a stud and there is a good chance he may be a top 100 in Pennsylvania come next year no joke. Possessing great speed and power, you could see that on full display this past weekend from him. Lowry is another 2025 prospect who made a name for himself, particularly during the 1 on 1 portion. A stout athlete playing for Archbishop Wood, Lowry will be sure to have a major impact defensively this fall. Getting his name recognized in the meantime is the next step and his performance Saturday only helped him.” As you can see my stance hasn’t changed, expect to hear his name a lot come this fall.
Defensive Backs:
Early during the Defensive back portion of the showcase, I began to hear this kid was legit, didn’t take me long to find out why the hype for Cornell is real. The MVP of the defensive backs, this 2025 West Allegheny product ran one of the fastest 40s on the day and was locked in during the 1 on 1 sessions. During the reps against the glaring amount of more receivers than dbs, I do not believe Cornell lost one battle.

This Junior to be had everyone on hand very impressed and could of been the MVP for this group had it not been for Cornell’s outing. Regardless this kid has elite corner skills and he consistently showed that going up against some of the best receivers in the state. What I said about him a couple weeks ago still holds up “Constantly facing some of the top receivers in the state, Hicks would not back down and would not take a rep off, love his competitiveness. Playing for Springside Chestnut Hill Academy, this dude can play, all the coaches on hand loved his ball skills and technique. Expect to see his name rise in our rankings coming soon, he has earned it.”
I noticed both him and Carter ran together and you can see they can be a lockdown tandem at corner come fall.

Robert Nettles-Carter
Both Carter and Spriddle really separated themselves and are going to be lockdown corners this coming fall. Carter took reps as both a defensive back and wide receiver, so you can understand why he may have been tired, but that wasn’t the case. He would literally alternate between drills at both positions and refused to back down during the 1 on 1 session.
Those were our first team All-Showcase selections on defense, come tomorrow I will have an article on the second team recipients. Be on the lookout the rest of this week for more standouts and thoughts from my co-workers here at Prepredzone.
