emerged as a true dual-threat quarterback, impacting games with both his arm and his legs. In the passing game, Drakeford consistently attacked defenses down the seams, showing a strong feel for route timing and the ability to layer throws over defenders’ heads for explosive gains. He demonstrated poise and vision when working the middle of the field, punishing coverage lapses with well-placed passes.
As a runner, Drakeford was equally effective on designed quarterback runs, displaying patience behind his blocks before accelerating through creases and gashing defenses for chunk yardage. His ability to manage the run game added another dimension to Quince Orchard’s offense and kept defenses off balance throughout the season.
Drakeford finished the year with over 1,000 passing yards and capped his breakout campaign by leading Quince Orchard to a Maryland state championship. With a winning pedigree and a skill set that translates to the next level, he is a quarterback prospect college programs should be taking a close look at as his recruitment continues to develop.

William had one the best seasons of any QB in the MD/DC/DE area. Leading Quince Orchard to undefeated State Championship season and being a big reason for their success. Will jumped over 150 spots in the recent rankings and I see him as the top un-committed QB in the area.
On the year William threw for over 1,300 yards with 20 passing TDs and only threw 1 INT all season. He also rushed for over 500yds and 4 scores. His numbers may not be as striking as others but you have to take into consideration Will sat out over 2 games worth due to QO being up so much in games, so his numbers could have easily been higher. William is very efficient and consistent in his play and that is proven with his 70% completion percentage, 143 passing ratings, to go with that single interception on the year. That is an excellent TD to INT ratio and you can’t ask for much more from your QB. I saw Drakeford live in game earlier this year and I saw improved pocket awareness and decision making. He is a QB who can run but is efficient and smart in his running, doesn’t just take off when his first read isn’t there. Knows when to escape the pocket and move the chains as well as be dangerous on designed runs. William is accurate and consistent as a thrower. Can hit passes across all the three levels and able to pass from different throwing angles/trajectories. While also having the arm strength to make all the throws & push it down the field vertically.
A high academic prospect as well, William have proven to be a high level player as season long. He should have much more going for him recruiting wise and is an FCS talent.
Senior highlights! 4A State Champions. DREAM season! Great teammates & coaches. Thank God for this opportunity to display my talent & leadership🙏🏽. @StrengthDesign @CKQOfootball @Coach_Fleming @Coach__Belkin @QO_Coach_Kelley @McBrienGroup

Will is a player I have seen many times over the years and he still continues to impress me when I get eyes on him, always fine tuning & adding to his game. He didn’t have a huge stat line, but that’s because he didn’t really need to as QO dominated their competition. Drakeford finished with 9/12 passing for 175 yds, 2 TDs, 75 rushing yards & 1 rushing TD.
I was impressed during the game with Will’s pocket awareness and decision making. He stood tall, moved around the rush and threw some pretty deep/touch passes for big plays. He was very accurate and consistent with his throws. Hitting passes across all the three levels and different throwing angles/trajectories. I also liked how dangerous he was with his running. Will knew when to escape the pocket and move the chains as well as be dangerous on designed runs. I feel his ability has a runner from the pocket has improved and has just added more to his overall game. Look for Will to have a huge senior year for Quince Orchard, leading them far this year and generating more & more interest from colleges each week.
Good team win for my QO squad over another 4A Rival Walter Johnson 56-6. Starters played the 1st half. Was 9/12, 175 yards passing & 2 TD’s. 75 yards rushing & 1 TD. In the lab preparing for next week. @QO_Coach_Kelley @StrengthDesign @CKQOfootball @EdOBrienCFB pic.twitter.com/zM0ht4MGkz

has already shown he can impact a game in multiple ways, and his next step comes with one of the region’s most dominant programs. The talented signal-caller flashed impressive elusiveness in the pocket last season, consistently escaping pressure, extending plays, and keeping his eyes downfield after making defenders miss. On the ground, Drakeford is just as dangerous, his vision as a ball carrier allows him to find lanes, and he possesses the burst and speed to turn broken plays into big gains.
Drakeford is coming off a strong 2024 season in which he passed for 1,279 yards and 15 touchdowns, showcasing both his growth as a passer and his ability to operate as a dual-threat weapon. His transfer to state powerhouse Quince Orchard sets the stage for him to flourish even further, expected to help maintain the program’s championship standard.
With his ability to create off-script, combined with his natural athleticism, Drakeford projects as a quarterback capable of developing into a dynamic playmaker at the next level. If he continues to refine his passing mechanics within the pocket, his ceiling only gets higher.

Drakeford, a transfer from Westlake, provides Quince Orchard with an experienced quarterback. He had a breakout season in 2024, completing 107-of-171 passes for 1,279 yards, 15 touchdowns and four interceptions. He also carried the football 51 times for 536 yards and one touchdown. Drakeford definitely increases the odds for a Quince Orchard state chip repeat in 2025.

Drakeford is a player I have seen multiple times at National Preps events, and he is always one of the top performing QBs of said events. Will is a tall, athletic, dual threat QB who is capable of making all the throws. He gets nice velocity on all his throws and can work all 3 levels of the field with good accuracy/timing. He throws a real pretty deep ball, getting it out there in front of the receiver with nice trajectory on the throw. As a DT QB, Will is a weapon with his legs. He knows when to take off and run, has some good wiggle and will eat up grass with his long stride. William also shows good pocket awareness and mobility, stepping up to make the throw or take off and run, while also being able to keep the play alive with his legs and extending the play. William is poised to have a big junior season with new HC coach Parrish taking over coming over from Wise. I expect Will to be a name for college coaches after this season, and is another candidate to be a big rankings riser after this fall.
