Quince Orchard had a convincing win this past weekend over rivals Northwest to make it to the regional finals this week. While the Cougars offense balled out as well, Kacey led the defense to holding Northwest to just 7 total points.

Gilliam was a force from the edge spot. The JMU commit totaled 3 sacks in the game to go along with another TFL, and multiple tackles & pressures. Kacey was wrecking havoc in the backfield all game long and was seemingly unblock-able. Winning at the POA with speed, power, and an array of pass rush moves. If Kacey keeps up this level of play all playoffs long, it will be hard for any team to score against QO.

Gilliam helped set the tone defensively with early backfield tackles. His aggressiveness against the run forced Seneca Valley into long-yardage downs. While overshadowed by Bond and Rodriguez, he provided a steady presence in the second level.

Gilliam, a James Madison University commit, racked up 15 sacks last season. He was named to Maryland’s Class 4A All-State football team for his on-field performance. As a pass-rusher, I love how he bends around the edge to get around offensive linemen in route to the quarterback. Gilliam gets off the ball with urgency and that allows him to be a disrupter against both the run and the pass. He’s very capable of reaching 20-plus sacks this season.

Gilliam Emerging as Key Disruptor on Dominant Defensive Line

Gilliam finished the season with 27 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, and 6 sacks totaling 56 yards lost for opposing offenses. He also forced a fumble and recovered two others, showcasing his ability to both create and capitalize on game-changing plays.

He currently holds nine Division I offers, including Liberty, Marshall, Buffalo, and Memphis, with more likely on the way. Gilliam’s explosiveness off the snap is his most dangerous weapon. With a lightning-fast get-off, he’s in the backfield before most offensive linemen can react. He does an excellent job of getting up field quickly and setting a hard edge against the run.

Gilliam recently added James Madison University (JMU) to his growing list of offers, bringing his total to seven. The standout interior defensive player had an exceptional season, recording 15 sacks, earning First-Team All-State honors, and helping lead his team to a 4A state championship. Kacey has been on a roll during the recruiting process, securing all seven of his offers this offseason. With his dominant performance on the field and growing list of suitors, Gilliam is undoubtedly one of the top defensive prospects to watch.
