Expert Analysis
Hunter Tierney | Prep Redzone Scout
Tyler is a talented pass-catcher who can bring in just about anything thrown his way. His ability to adjust mid-route and track the ball in the air makes him a reliable target in crucial situations. Though he’s not the quickest in and out of breaks, his long stride helps him gain separation without needing to juke defenders. He uses his reach as a blocker too, leveraging his arms effectively against bigger opponents. There’s still room for him to add muscle, but he’s already made strides in that department. Look for him to continue developing physically — and to keep making the tough catches that move the chains.

Overstreet was listed on PRZ’s Next Up series and lands himself in the rankings going into his sophomore year. Transferred to Centennial from Saguaro where he flashed raw ability and potential on both sides of the ball at TE and LB. At 6’3” 180 lbs. he’s a strong receiving TE that can get open or create throwing lanes with positional leverage. Catches the ball well with his hands and can use his length to extend to bring in catches outside his frame. Capable LB that plays downhill and attacks ball carriers. Can run and redirect in the short area to pursuit the ball. Brings his feet and hips through contact to deliver heavy contact at the POA. Skillset can transition to either side of the ball as he progresses.

Impressive athlete with length and a wide skillset that could translate well to multiple positions as he develops. At 6’3” 180 lbs. he shows he can run and attack the field vertically as a split end. Does a good job feeling the soft spot in coverage to establish himself as a target. Goes at the ball with his hands and extends out to have a catch radius that goes beyond his framework. Like his ability to use his length and create positional leverage by boxing out defenders at the catch point. At LB, he’s tough and physical at the POA. He flashes good range to play sideline to sideline while making quick decisive reads to put himself in good position. Strong tackler that accelerates his feet on contact and takes good angles of pursuit to the ball. One to watch as gains more experience.

put on a show for those in attendance at the PRZ Arizona Combine. He has incredible length that stands out immediately, but knowing how to use that length to his advantage at his young age was very impressive. Using his body to box them out, defenders couldn’t get around him to even have a chance at the ball. Even when defenders were able to make a play on the ball, Overstreet’s strong and secure hands seemed to overpower the defensive backs. Playing on a loaded Saguaro roster, Overstreet has the tools he needs to be able to contribute as they make a push for the post-season under their new head coach.

The son of Saguaro Sabercat Offensive Analyst John Overstreet, Tyler is one that I’m waiting to see bloom. Has pretty good size as a Tight End/Linebacker right now and continues to impress on both sides. Plays a little stiff and robotic right now. Looking forward to seeing what continued agility and speed work will do.
