Franklin is extremely active and a great read rush defender playing the hybrid DE/OLB role for Centennial. 6’1” 220 lbs. his athleticism gives him great field range and the ability to be a difference maker in both the pass and run game. Plays hard and at full speed but under control and in balance. Shows a high football IQ knowing how to attack blocks while maintaining leverage and taking efficient angles to the ball carrier. Good natural strength at the POA, he can anchor down to stack blockers but is also savvy to disengage and free himself up. Demonstrates that he can play in space and is a strong one on one tackler that is tough to break. He’s an underrecruited D1 prospect with great versatility and natural defensive playmaking ability. Finished the 2025 season with 99 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks.
Here is my junior season highlights. Blessed with another great year. Thankful for all my teammates and coaches. -Region defensive player of the year -Second team all state -First team all west valley 82 TT, 53 solo, 9 sacks, 15 Tfl, 16 hurry'shttps://t.co/B3IEXxl3f2
Franklin comes off a strong sophomore year by accumulating 11 sacks, 15 hurries, and 53 total tackles in that 14 game season to help Centennial win the 6A title. I love his ability to spill cross face of OT’s lateral down the LOS to plug up lanes and blow up plays. Good play strength with balance and a center of gravity to absorb yet also deliver strikes head on vs pulling guards to stay in the play- frequently forcing RB’s to hesitate to try to find a different lane. He also shows relentless pursuit that will always fly to the ball no matter where. A lot of raw tools in the box for this young player along with a good football IQ at his age.
Franklin plays like his hair is on fire — every snap, every play, full effort. Even as a sophomore, he showed the kind of motor and discipline that coaches dream about in a defensive lineman. He’s got a knack for shedding blocks, whether it’s using quick hands or just outworking the guy in front of him. He never gives up on a play, often chasing down ball carriers from behind when they think they’ve escaped. On passing downs, he knows how to use his length to disrupt throwing lanes, making him a problem for quarterbacks trying to get the ball out. With two more years to develop, Franklin is well on his way to becoming one of the most dominant linemen in Arizona.
The young 2027 standout really put himself on the map this year, as he should be on all of the recruiting boards moving forward. He totaled 11 sacks throughout his sophomore campaign and helped that Centennial squad win a 6A State Title. Relentless pursuit with a natural ability to shed blocks and blow up plays. He sizes up at 6’1″ 220lbs with a wide base and good length- as Centennial liked to use him along the edges and a little bit along the DL as well- but also has the athleticism to play LB if needed which provides him with a huge upside.
As a sophomore, Franklin was a key contributor to the strong Centennial defense on their way to the 6A state title. At 6’1” 220 lbs. he’s a well-coached Edge that plays a hard and attacking brand of football. High IQ with good understanding and execution of his assignment. Combines his speed, power, and athleticism to contain the edge in the run game and collapse the pocket in pass rush situations. Active hands and good natural strength to separate from blockers and disengage from contact as he locates the ball carrier. Good twitch to change directions and adjust his angle in pursuit. Chases hard with good short area speed and leg drive to close space. Reliable and consistent tackler that wraps up and is tough to break once he gets his hands on the ball carrier. The fourth ranked 2027 DL prospect and #37 overall in the updated PRZ state rankings.
