Byrd flashed as a sophomore at Veterans and will now play his junior year at Douglas County. He is a well-developed, smooth athlete at 6’3 200. He is a dual threat with the impressive ability to create space for himself to get good footing in the pocket. In space, once he gets rolling, his long strides help him eat up turf and separate. He is a smooth, easy-going passer with a long, whippy delivery. He taps into different speeds, but his touch and placement in the intermediate areas are what draw my eye the most as a passer. He will pop on more radars at Douglas County this fall, and is a clear candidate to break out.
