A long, athletic linebacker on the rise just outside of Atlanta, McClendon is a promising defender off the edge who can set the edge and attack the quarterback. He wad buried behind some veteran linebackers last season, but his potential and talent is easy to see. It’s led to recent offers from Ole Miss, East Carolina, and North Carolina with more coming over the next three years. Look for McClendon to have a giant second season next fall.

The Carrollton Trojans are loaded with elite talent and 6’0 165 lb. linebacker Steven McClendon Steven McClendon 6'4" | 215 lbs | EDGE Douglas County | 2028 State GA is a part of that select group. McClendon is long, fast, and athletic. Offensive coordinators definitely need to account for this young man and where he will be each play. The problem is, where he starts doesn’t have any impact on where he finishes. McClendon is a threat sideline to sideline. Run at him, he wants the smoke. Try to run outside, he’s too fast for that. Run away, his high motor with track you down. There is not mistake that he has received Player of the Year honors along with Best Linebacker. With high school being around the corner, I would not be surprised if he keeps shooting upward in height, he plays some stand up D-End or be used as a Hybrid OLB.
